Jaden cleaned her makeup off her face and pulled her natural hair into a bun on top of her head, before laying down her edges. She slipped on her lavender Nike hoodie over her tank top and jeans and stepped into her white high-top Air Force Ones.
She grabbed her black duffel bag as Mina walked over wearing her black jumpsuit with a white wool long cardigan and white Yeezy Boosts with her oversized Louis Vuitton tote bag. Her long hair was pulled into a ponytail under her white Adidas dad hat.
"Ready?" Mina handed her the keys. "Marquis is gonna meet me out back."
"Alright, Ivan can walk me to your car,"
Mina looked at her phone and started texting before responding, "Marquis wants to know if you wanna come eat with us. We're going to that 24-hour diner." Mina smiled at her friend. "The birthday boy gon be there too."
"I have class in the morning," Jaden declined.
"We'll go eat, then I'll take you home, I promise Jae, It'll be fun."
Jaden checked the time on her iPhone. It was almost one in the morning so it wasn't too late considering she usually didn't leave the club until after 2. "Okay, I'll go."
"Cool, they're outside already," Mina grabbed Jaden's hand and pulled her to the back door.
"Y'all ladies need me to walk you out?" Ivan held open the door for them to exit.
"No, thank you though, Ivan," Mina said, walking out first still holding Jaden's hand.
They walked across the parking lot together in the direction of Mina's black Infiniti Q60. As the women approached the coupe, a black Mercedes pulled up behind them with dark tinted windows.
The passenger window rolled down and Marquis peeked his head out. "Hey, ladies." He greeted the two of them. With all that liquor flowing through him, he was having a great night.
"Hey." Jaden waved.
"You wanna ride with me?" Mina asked Marquis as she popped her trunk to throw her bag in.
"Yeah, Honey, you can ride with Des," Marquis suggested getting out of the passenger seat of the car and leaving his door open for her.
"Uhh. Y'all sure?" Jaden asked cautiously looking to Mina.
"Yeah, we're all going to the same place. And you'll be right behind me." Mina reassured her.
"Alright," Jaden heaved her bag higher on her shoulder.
"Lemme get that for you," Desmond hopped out of the driver's seat to take Jaden's bag from her.
She watched him closely as he sat the duffel in the backseat of the car. After he closed the back door she sat down in the passenger seat and he closed her door for her then walked back around and got into the driver seat. She buckled her seatbelt and unlocked her phone going into the privacy settings to make sure her location was updating.
"You good, boo?" Desmond looked at her as she sat silently.
"Um-hm." She hummed looking out the window to her friend's car.
"If you'd rather ride with them, that's okay," Desmond assured her.
She turned to face him, meeting his gaze. She stared into his eyes momentarily before she spoke, "It's fine, I'm just a little tired." she lied. She was nervous sitting in his car with him alone.
"I appreciate you comin' to eat even though you tired. You put on quite a show in there so I understand. That was a full workout."
She smiled at his compliment and relaxed further into his leather seats.
