"Step outside wit me right quick,"

Desmond casually motioned his head toward the front door. He opened it and walked out before his brother could agree. Once they both were in the hallway, before Jace could say anything, Desmond snatched him by his t-shirt and hemmed him up against the wall.

"The fuck?" The younger brother whisper-shouted.

"The fuck is the problem, Jaceon?" Desmond asked through gritted teeth looking his brother in the face.

"I wasn't tryna be mean, I swear. I was tryna see if she on that same shit as her homegirl." He explained, "I didn't want to seem like a hater last night, but I warned Marquis about Minaj, so he took her to his apartment downtown by the club just in case, and I was fuckin' right cause she robbed that nigga and he don't even know it yet."

Desmond relaxed his hold on his brother's shirt without completely letting go, "Whatchu mean robbed him?"

"He thought he forgot his card at the club after closing the tab, so he asked me to cancel it, but 3 of his credit cards were swiped today at the same department store. Luckily, they all declined because I already locked them. I contacted the store and they emailed me a picture of the person trying to make the purchases and it was her hoe ass."

"Jaden ain't tryna do all that, though." Desmond asserted before Jace could accuse her.

"I'm not saying she was." He confirmed,  "I've seen her friend in the club before and every single time she's goin' home with a different nigga from one of the crews. She's tryna catch a come-up. Jaden needs to be careful of the company she keeps. They don't know who these niggas really are in the streets, they just see dollars."

"Jace, it's a way to do things, and why the fuck would you do this right before we leave. She might not wanna go with me now." Desmond ran his hand down his face in frustration.

"I'm sorry bruh, that's my fault, not thinkin' it through. Let me talk to her." he suggested, "You go take the shit down, by yourself anyway because I'm not your fucking bellhop," he laughed "and I'll fix it." Jace promised.

The two went back inside the condo
and Desmond grabbed his duffel and put his backpack on his back.

"Don't say no more stupid shit." He warned before walking back out the door.

Jace knocked on the bedroom door.

"Yeah," Jaden called from the other side.

He opened the door and saw her sitting on the bench near the window looking outside.

"Hey, uhh...I want to apologize for how I came off in the living room. I could've just said I wasn't interested in your friend and left it at that. Her hoescapades don't have nothing to do with you." He explained.

Jaden laughed, "Hoescapades?"

"What else would you call them?" He chuckled.

"Nah, that's funny, Imma have to use that one." they joked. "It's cool Jace. You're just looking out for your brother," she paused, "You told him about me and Bishop too huh?"

"How'd you know?" The guilt was all over his face.

"You gotta step yo lurking game up. You accidentally liked one of my pictures and I got the notification, even though you unliked it," She giggled, "I looked at your page. You graduated from my college."

"You go to the Jackson Institute?" He inquired.

"Yeah, I'll graduate next year." she shared. "Your brother got me playing hooky for a few days. He better be glad I can make it up."

They laughed together.

"Jaden imma be real, you seem like a good person who might've been dealt the wrong cards, but I think you'll be good for my brother." He smiled, "And shit, he might do you some good too." He admitted.

"Now let's get out of here before y'all niggas miss this last-minute ass flight."
