She was silent for a few minutes, contemplating on how to respond. I knew she was frightened, I could tell by how her breathing had increased.

"Say something please," I whispered.

"I think I'm going to sleep on the couch," she replied and walked out of the room.

Harry's POV

Being surrounded in silence was not what I desired after reliving a horrifying moment from my past. I desperately wanted to latch onto Laila and prevent her from leaving, but I knew if I wanted to gain her trust, I couldn't.

I knew I wouldn't be sleeping anymore tonight and so l turned on the TV in hopes of finding something cheery like a family movie or a show.

Laila's POV

The couch was actually very comfortable but, there was one thing it lacked. Warmth. I went off in search of extra blankets but was unsuccessful. My eyes wandered to the phone resting on the coffee table and I tiptoed over to it.

The extension for the front desk was taped onto the phone itself and I quickly dialed the numbers 2335. After a couple rings, someone picked up.

"Front desk, how can I help?"

"Hi, um, I was wondering if you had any extra blakets. It's a little chilly."

"Yes, we have extra blankets but since it is past 12 am you will have to come get them."

"Oh, ok. I'll be down shortly," I muttered.

After the other line clicked, I crept over to the elevator after grabbing one of the keys resting on the table.

The ride down was nice and quiet until the elevator stopped at floor 3. The doors opened to reveal none other than Liam. He smiled at me but it quickly turned into a frown.

"What are you doing out of your room?"

"I needed some extra blankets," I mumbled.

"I see. So you're not trying to escape?"

"Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the plan?"

"Yes it would. I'm glad you're sticking to it. Don't let Harry catch you though, he might think you were trying to run away."

"I think it'd be worse if he saw you honestly, " I replied.

"I think you're right," he chuckled.

We were both silent afterwards and I was relieved when I saw some blankets sitting on the counter of the front desk. Liam headed around the corner towards what I assumed was the bar. I grabbed the blankets and headed back over to the elevator.

Before I could press the button to go back up, the doors opened to reveal a fuming Harry. His eyes zeroed in on me and he pulled me into the elevator.

"What are you doing down here?" He hissed after the doors shut.

"I-I was getting some extra blankets."

"Why didn't you just take some off the bed?"

"I didn't exactly want to see you," I answered truthfully.

"You should have just asked me," he muttered.

"So I have no freedom still?"

"You have to earn it. At this point it is gone."

"But that's not fair! I just wanted some extra blankets!"

"You should have just stayed in the bed then."

"I'm sorry for not saying 'Oh Harry, it's ok that you killed someone and practically destroyed an entire hospital and its staff.' Because it's not okay."

"It wasn't exactly easy for me to say that you know!"

"Well it's going to take time for me to accept what happened because you are really starting to scare me Harry."

"You're afraid of me?"

I felt really uncomfortable around him at this point. His features softened and he stepped towards me, hand extended, but I backed away. Hurt flashed across his face and he dropped his hand.

"I didn't mean to-"

"I know you didn't but this is the sort of thing you tell someone who you've known and can trust. I've barely gotten to know you and I didn't exactly get the choice to choose how we met," I interrupted.

"I can't change the past Lai, and you know I can't just let you leave. I can't afford to be locked up and I need you. I know that I sound crazy but I don't know what else to do. Let me prove that you can trust me. Please," he begged.

"I-I need some time to think."

"You know, I used to be very charming. I was very good at planning dates and all that romantic stuff. I'd really like to make you feel like royalty. You deserve it," he said seriously.

"I will think about it Harry, that is the only answer I can give you for now. "

We entered the room silently and I headed for the couch. He reached over and grabbed my arm and I turned around to face him.

"Please stay with me," he whispered.

"I don't think-"

"Please. I won't touch you, just please stay with me."

"I suppose-"

"Thank you," he mumbled and pulled me in for a tight hug. I lightly pushed at his chest and he released me.

"Sorry," he muttered causing me to smile slightly.

He led me back to the bedroom after I tossed the extra blankets on the couch.
I climbed into the right side and felt immediate warmth. He must've been sleeping on this side. I felt the bed dip and the covers were pulled up.

The lights clicked off and an arm wrapped itself around my side before quickly pulling away.

"Sorry," he muttered and I reached over to grab his arm, wrapping it around me once again. I wasn't letting him in just yet, but we both needed the comfort for tonight.

"Goodnight Harry."

"Night Lai."
