I picked up the threaded needle and slowly lowered it to meet his cut. I looked up to him only to see him nod at me, and with that, I pushed the needle into his flesh and he cried out in pain.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" I frantically blurted out to his response.

"Just. Finish. It." He gritted through his teeth and gripped onto the counter, knuckles burning white.

I continued on with the stitching as quickly as possible and tried to block out his painful cries. I never wanted to do this. Why did he make me do this?

I had gotten to the last cross and hurriedly tied it off before clipping the leftover thread.

Harry sighed in relief and pulled me into his chest.

"Thank you," he mumbled and kissed the top of my head.

"Don't ever ask me to do that again."

Laila's POV

Harry was sound alseep a few hours later and I was wide awake. Strangely enough, it wasn't because of the stitches,  my mind had fallen back once  again to why his refusual to go to hospitals was so strong.

Perhaps it had something to do with his family. Maybe he would eventually open up, but for now, I was left with my own thoughts.

Harry's POV

'If you want them back, you have to pay the price.'

"NO!!!!" I roared and slammed my fist down on the bedside table, shattering the lamp and splattering blood all over the walls.

"Mr. Styles! Please stay put! Mr. STYLES!" The nurse screamed when I ripped out my IV and launched the table at the door. I grabbed the bandages by my bed and shoved them into the pocket on the hospital gown and looked over to see the nurse toppled over on the ground and I rushed out of the room.

All the nearby patients began to scream at the puddle of blood running down the hall and someone pulled the lockdown alarm.

Several doctors flooded the halls and attempted to form a barricade to prevent me from leaving but I smashed through them, hearing bones snap and agonizing cries.

At this point, I was bursting with adrenaline and threw a gurney behind me that collided with the few doctors who were brave enough to chase after me.

The exit doors were in sight and I saw a large padlock around them and looked around for another way. A fire extinguisher came into view and I broke the glass and launched it at the glass doors.

They shattered and I ran through them. My head was pounding and I felt my legs growing weaker. I needed to hide.

My eyes fell upon an open car door. I limped inside the vehicle and felt immediate relief when I saw no one was inside. I slammed the door shut and sped  off.

I woke up drenched in sweat and Laila was hovered over me with a concerned look on her face.

"Are you ok?"

"No," I replied honestly.

"Bad dream?"

"You could say that."

"A flashback?"

"Yeah, how'd you know?"

"I used to get them after I got beat up in an alley," she answered and turned away.

"Hey, love, it's ok," I mumbled and tugged lightly at her side to turn her back to look at me.

"Come 'ere love."

She laid down next to me and I pulled her snugly into me. She curled her head into my chest and I took a few deep breaths.

"If I tell you what happened, will you promise not to tell?" I asked.

"Yeah," she mumbled.

"I need more than a yeah Lai this shit is pretty serious."

"I promise not to tell," she whispered.

"Ok," I answered, taking another deep breath before sighing.

"You know about my dodgy past with the police and gangs and that's what got me into this mess. I was worried about my family's safety when I was involved with the gang because they were immediate targets to get to me, and so I decided to move them away.

They didn't really know about my involvement, just that I was really busy with something that kept me from just hanging around home all the time like I used to and that made them happy. I was never really social and this gang was what really brought me out of my shell.

They thought we were just going on a trip to visit our old cabin in the woods, but I planned to keep them there well guarded so that no harm could come to them.

We started driving to get to our destination and I noticed two black cars flanking ours. At first I figured it was the guys I wanted to help guard my family because I asked them to escort us. I just kept driving and nodded at them.

As soon as we had reached the turn off to head into the town that was near our cabin, I knew something was up. The two cars were increasing their speed towards us and I swerved into another exit and yelled to my family to hold onto something.

One of the cars crashed and I sped off towards the only other safe place I knew, our headquarters.

The man in the car pulled out a gun and handed it to his accomplice and I told my sister and mother duck and stay down. They were so frightened Lai. So frightened.

Those bullets ripped through the car and I was running out of ideas. I had been in these sort of situations all the time, but my mum and sister had never been with me before. I had lost many men to attacks like these."

"So what did you do?" She asked.

"I got my own gun out and fired. I hit the driver, but the accomplice survived. I figured the car would crash and so I let down my guard. Big mistake. When I heard my mother scream to look out, I knew it was over.

Over the next month, I was in a coma. I woke up in a hospital thinking I was out for a couple hours. I was out for a month. The police told me that I was the only one found in the wrecked car and that there were no signs of other passengers.

I tried to tell them that my family was with me, but they didn't believe me. I noticed there was a note on the bedstand beside me. It was from Liam. He had taken my family and I was furious and devastated.

My mother and sister were my only immediate family left. I couldn't survive without them. I destroyed a huge last of the hospital and even killed an innocent nurse accidentally. All I saw was black and red. I was out of control and, to this day, I will never forget it.

I can't go to hospitals because I don't want to relive the horror I had once experienced. The only reason I was never found was because Niall had wiped my traces of ever being there and had managed to erase me from their memories by using some strange hyponitising technique. I still don't understand how he did it."

She was silent for a few minutes, contemplating on how to respond. I knew she was frightened, I could tell by how her breathing had increased.

"Say something please," I whispered.

"I think I'm going to sleep on the couch," she replied and walked out of the room.

Author's Note

So now Laila knows what really happened. Harry's past is very messy and it has a pretty big effect on her.  The question is, will she be able to cope with it?
