Loki's image seared smoothly through the time portal. His voice and his movements like lava, incinerating everything in his path. "WHERE IS SHE?!" A dozen minutemen surrounded and attacked him and Loki struck each one down in a dangerous display of strength. An agent he didn't recognize, who also seemed very unphased, signaled for Loki to be restrained. It took a second dozen hunters to bind him after he laid the first set flat on their asses.
"Give her to me now." He hissed so low it was barely a whisper. The words came out as an icy threat that coiled its way around the room, looking for the weakest to consume. The agent in front of him simply smiled coolly. There was a strange distance between them that was more than just the space in the room.
"Mobius. Bring me to Mobius." Loki gave the command as if he was king on the throne in Asgard, instead of a prisoner on his knees in chains. He spent enough of his life as the latter that it didn't deter his kingly attitude.
"Loki," the analyst was on one knee now inches from Loki's face. His voice fell on Loki's ears like ash, darkening the world around him. "Loki, they are gone." The agent pulled back so he could watch Loki, curiously assessing his mania, a smile played on his lips, clearly satisfied at his work.
Loki slumped his shoulders, drooped his head and began laughing, his body heaving dangerously up and down with hysteria. "Gone." He whispered. "They are ... gone."
"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!" He whipped his head back and his hair flew out of his face as if to hide from his anger. There was nothing but venom spilling out now.
"They were...." He was thoughtful for just a moment and rose to stand a few feet away from Loki. He continued to look suave even through his precautionary stance. "They were pruned Loki. They are dead. Mobius shortly after he let you get away and D-10 the second she stepped back through that portal."
The static crackled and popped out of the room, as the air itself seemed to fade out of existence and there was no noise except a faint, electrical ringing. The daggers magic was meant to give him time to save her, since that no longer seemed an option, although he couldn't let himself entirely believe it, he let revenge become his driving force.
It was the blast signature of a bomb, the shrapnel, minutemen hurtling across the various corners of the room, someone one was screaming, 'Run! Go, move her now. We have to do it NOW! Send him back!' All Loki could hear was his blood thrumming in his ears. He was standing tall, powerful, even here at the TVA his power was surging, just his toes brushing the floor and his eyes glowing, murderous moss.
His strength was breathtaking but it was short lived, muted by the pain in his heart. His eyes snowed over, blinding him, and he crumpled like a used napkin, to the floor. Now chained again and broken Loki stared through this agent into darkness "I don't... I don't believe you."
Loki was met with a cold and amused explanation. It reminded him of the memories he had of himself that lived in the shadows of his mind.
"You didn't think they would be met with anything less, come on Loki, Mobius told us you were smart. Think man! After he let you slip away like that? That wasn't just your last chance, that was his as well. He knew that but he placed his, well, his misguided trust in you anyway."
'Was he smirking now?'
"Don't, speak of him like you knew him." He spit each word into existence.
"Oh, I had no idea man. They told me you were ... eccentric but I never thought a TVA agent would peak your interest." His laugh was patronizing at best. Loki was sure it would make his eyes bleed.
"We couldn't allow that baby, also... you understand. Gah, the paperwork alone would have taken me months, if not years. But hey now look at this, you get to go back to your original timeline since it resulted in your death, we were able to make that happen for you. Isn't that great? You can even go back to the role you played before. We know how hard it's been for you to actually give a shit about others. We plan on making you more evil than ever Loki! Chaos right? That's what you like?"
