Kenma's POV

"Go on upstairs.." I said quietly and watched him run off. Once he was gone, I turned my attention back to Kuroo.

"Kenma... Whose-"

"Whose do you think."

"I... I don't-"

"He's yours..."

"...I- but you said-"

"Well I was wrong.."

"...I-"

"Just go away." I mumbled, starting to close the door. Kuroo put his hand on the door to keep it from shutting.

"Wait..! You have to let me see him.."

"No, I don't."

"But-"

"I said to go away." I growled angrily, Kuroo looked at me quietly before slowly stepping back and allowing me to shut the door. Once it was closed, I locked it and saw my son wander back over.

"Who was that, papa??" He asked curiously. I shook my head and picked him back up.

"No one, don't worry. Come on, wanna help me make dinner?"

"Yeah!"

Kuroo's POV
No... No I have to find out a way to get Kenma to let me see that kid...

I turned and ran back to Kotaro's. When I got there, I nearly broke down the door. Kotaro looked at me surprised when he opened the door.

"Kuroo? What-"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME KENMA HAD GOTTEN PREGNANT WITH MY BABY."

"...He asked me not to."

"BUT IT'S MINE."

"Kuroo..." Kotaro said quietly. I growled before slowly calming down. No... He's right.. He and I both know that it's uncertain what would have happened if I had known. Besides, Kenma was the one who has cared for this baby for 5 years alone... Aside from biologically, I had no claim to the baby...

"Kotaro what do I do..."

"Well, what do you want..?"

"...I want to be part of the kid's life. And a part of Kenma's. Gah..! I just wish that I could've redone this.. If I had the chance, I never would've left."

"If Kenma doesn't want you to be involved, there's nothing you can do."

"I know..."

"...I'll tell you what.. I won't even bother trying to persuade Kenma for you. But I will tell you he could use the help. Maybe with a lot of work, he'd let you in a little."

"Maybe.. But I don't know what I could do. He doesn't seem to want anything to do with me at all."

"Then you're going to have to try and work hard to get Kenma's approval."

Next Morning
Kotaro told me Kenma often visits this little cafe in the mornings with his son. I know it's my fault, but I have to figure out how to get Kenma to let me help him. I kept looking around until I saw Kenma walk inside, his son on his hip hanging on tight. Kenma smiled faintly to someone before he saw me. Once he saw me, he looked away and just walked over to who he had smiled at.

I watched closely, quite bothered to see that whoever he was walking up to was another alpha. Well, actually, it serves me right. But still. I couldn't help but want to walk over there and tell the alpha to go away. And that instinct only got worse when I saw another alpha join them.

Kenma's POV
"Is he staring..."

"Mhm."

"I wish he'd leave." I muttered. Daichi laughed faintly as he readjusted his hold of my son, Haru, in his lap. I normally didn't make friends, but, Shoyo had introduced me to Daichi a few years ago. He and his mate were very kind, and they were good babysitters.

"Ass probably wants to come over."

"Language." I said with a small growl at the second alpha, Tsukishima. I didn't quite like Tsukishima as much. But, he was friends with Daichi and with Shoyo. So, I put up with him. Sometimes.

"Are you alright, Kenma?" Daichi asked with a small smile. I nodded with a sigh, watching Haru eat a large blueberry muffin he had wanted.

"I suppose so. I just don't know what to do. I mean, he was a good choice when he and I first met. But I don't know if he still is. Or if he'd be worse now since, well, you know."

"It's entirely your decision, Kenma."

"I'm worried I'll make the wrong one.."

"You won't." Daichi said reassuringly. I smiled faintly at him before glancing away in thought. Kuroo seemed eager to just suddenly be part of me and my son's life again. But, I was still angry at him. But at the same time... he was Haru's father and still an alpha that I had been interested in. What do I do...

I sat there in quiet contemplation. I was thankful that Daichi was distracting Haru by having some weird conversation about unicorns and dinosaurs so I could think. After a bit, I shook my head and pulled out my phone.

Me: How much do you want to see him.

Kuroo: I'd do anything

Me: I'll let you help me. But on a condition. He won't know that you're his father.

Kuroo: Alright. I'll do it

I looked at the messages before telling Kuroo that he can come over to help me grocery shop in the morning. After I put my phone away, I looked back at Haru. Haru hasn't greatly questioned about who his father is. He's still young, but he is getting older and meeting friends who have two parents. Eventually, he will ask. And I won't know what to say...

Who knows.. maybe soon I could tell him it was Kuroo. Maybe by then, Kuroo would actually be a part of his life. But I'm not allowing Kuroo to come back into my life. Not right now. He has to work for it. Harder than he did before if he truly wants me.
