It took about three weeks for Kenzo to ask Taro if they could have a sleepover. It was lunch.

"Well I don't know" Taro stated while taking a big bite of his cooked rice. Taro whipped his mouth and swallowed before continuing, "I don't know if my parents will allow us to, outside of you being a girl and me being a boy I just don't think they would want anyone to come over unless it was for a school project or something."

"Oh" For the past few weeks Kenzo began to hate long periods of silence. With her father ignoring her and her mother still in the hospital, five months Kenzo thought five months since i've seen my mothers face, If it weren't for the portrait of her mother and father on their wedding day hanging at the end of the hallway next to her room Kenzo swore she would forget her mothers face, and that thought terrified Kenzo.

"Well-" Kenzo started, "What if we don't tell them?" Taro choked on his food.

"What!?" Taro looked at Kenzo with a shocked face. "You've gotta be kidding, they're already on edge around me! They'd kill me if they found out I was sneaking you in!" Taro took a breath to calm himself down, "How would that even work-" Taro started,

"I would have to find a way to sneak you into the back of the car and then get you inside without them noticing while they expect me to walk with them." Taro put his thumb in between his teeth.

"Well-"

"Oh don't even start-"

It took Kenzo around a month but she's been sleeping at the Nakao Household without anyone noticing for the past week. She ended up having to bribe her father to drive her to a fancy park in a rich neighborhood every day after school, which was a thing init of itself that, long story short, ended with Kenzo finding out how to access the internet and threatening to post a video of her confessing that she's quirkless to the public and a lot of shouting. However, she did it. Her father would drop her off at the park after school and Kenzo would walk a few blocks to the Nakao household, round to the back of the house and climb under the chain length fence covered by bushes in the back garden, and then Kenzo was home free to climb into Taro's conveniently opened window that just so happened to be on the first floor.

They would read and do homework together, apparently Taro's parents just didn't talk to him. Taro said he didn't know why, seeing as he was recently adopted, and if they didn't want a child why did they get one?

Miss Nakao and Mr Nakao have known a girl by the name Kurokawa Kenzo has been sneaking into their house for the past week, when they heard sounds coming from their sons room and checked the cameras to find a little girl falling out of a window with their son laughing and pointing at her, asking what she was doing and, oh my gosh how did that work?

They ignored it, knowing that if they didn't they would have to reveal to their "son' that they were keeping track of his behavior and his quirk.

Things were good for so long, three months, three months of shared smiles and comfortable times. Taro had quickly learned that Kenzo was tuchy and surrounded herself with fluffy and soft things, hoarding all the pillows and blankets she could find throughout the house, Taro was only relieved that his parents said nothing. Kenzo hadn't seen her father in days outside of those times he drove her to and from school, and she hadn't felt happier. Taro still didn't know what Kenzos quirk was, he never asked. As far as Taro knew Kenzo was just a close friend he helped sneak into his home and stole all his pillows and took grades and homework a bit too seriously.

The days blur by...

Her father was picking her up from school, one of those black spots of time in the past three months that Kenzo had tended to just.. Stop in, only choosing to tune back to earth once she saw they had entered the neighborhood. It was always the same, step in, buckle in, and stare outside the window and make everything blurry for a bit, unbuckle, step out, repeat when time was up. Things were different this time, it shouldn't have been but it was.

"We're going to the hospital" Kenzo had forgotten what her fathers voice sounded like until now. Kenzo didn't respond.

Kenzo hated hospitals, she didn't before, not even when she found out about her "Diagnosis" but she did now.

Kurokawa Yoshio, Kenzo's new little brother. Kenzo almost found it ironic that his full name meant black swamp Soldier, undoubtedly what her father wanted him to be. Kenzo almost laughed when she realized that her full name ment black swamp strong (Stangth?) Kenzo supposed it would make more sense to read it the english way, making it mean strong black swamp.

Kenzos mother didn't look as beautiful as before. Her eyes sunken and exhausted, she looked like that in the nine months that she was gone she had aged twice as long, her long and uncared for hair hanging in her face. Kenzo originally didn't know that when one was stressed their hair could turn white, but staring at her wedding picture with her original lush and perfect blue hair, the hair that Kenzo shared the same shade of. Kenzo connected the dots.

Yoshio was a loud baby, his puffs of blackish blue hair and pale skin were his only defined features outside of his red scrunched up face. Kenzo couldn't help but wonder how easy it would be to punt him out a window.

It was the first time in months that Kenzo walked into her room, it was dusty. Kenzo didn't sleep that night, Yoshios crying kept her up. She stood in the bathroom for several hours looking into a mirror. The electric blue eyes she shared with her mother staring back at her.

Kenzo threw up.
