Techno pov

I heard a quiet voice speak and echo through the room it sounded scared.

"Techno?"

I instinctively grabbed my sword and stood up. The glasses on my face making me look much less intimidating. The kid in the entrance stepped back. My grip didn't loosen on the sword.

I heard a screech I know well the kid turns around and pulls out a loaded crossbow firing an arrow before the ghast can shoot it's fireball.

I was actually surprised at this.

"Nice shot kid." They looked at me amazed at my words. "Wow uhh thanks" I could see they were scared. I began wondering if they were an orphan.

"Where are your parents kid?" I said trying to be as nice as I could

The kid walked past me and began to look at the shelves. "Why do you care?" They asked defiantly.

I sighed. "Do you have parents?" I asked impatiently.

They were pulling out some books looking at the covers and putting them back in the bookcase. "Of course I have parents" They said barley paying attention to me.

I looked at the kid and realized that they were reading. I mean like reading, quietly muttering the English version of the words to themselves.

I realized that they were looking for something the limp in their walk showing they had been injured. "What are you looking for?" I asked they let out a sigh of anger. "Wouldn't you want to know." They said obviously mad about something. " I'd like to help you find it" I said calmly. They gripped the sword In their belt. "That's a load of shit." They replied turning to face me. They took a deep breath and said. "Look. I want to find a book okay? So let me do so and nothing happens."

They were trying to remain calm. But I kept pushing. "What's your name?"
"Y/n, now leave me alone."

They pulled out a book titled: memory loss; it's symptoms, abilities and cures.

"Interesting reading choice" I said.

They replied with silence.

They were having trouble keeping their eyes open and even walking required focuse. It looked like they hadn't slept in at least 20 hours. "You good kiddo?" I asked slightly concerned. They groaned and put the book to the side. They got up but couldn't. They were really pale and there were noticable dark circles under their eyes.

"What are you looking for, I can get it." I offered.

"Can you get me the masquerade please."

I reached up grabbing a book titled the masquerade handing it to them. "Thank you" they said smiling lightly.

2 hours passed in scilence. When I looked up from my book they were out, sleeping.
