I quickly ran to him. He was awake but his eyes were drooping. He saw me and his eyes widened.

"What the fuck are you doing here?!" He snapped.

I mentally scoffed. Here I was, trying to save him. Ungrateful man.

"I'm here to save you, you idiot," I said shaking my head.

"You returned," He whispered softly.

"Yes," I replied back in the same tone.

"Listen, you need to leave," He suddenly said with an edge in his voice, "They will come."

"Who? And how did you land up back here?"

"Long story short, Sia, Ravi and I were leaving for ice-cream. I went back to the house as I forgot my phone and then I remember someone hitting me on my head. When I woke up, I saw myself tied to this bloody chair in this...place."

"Please tell me you at least ate something," I said with panic.

The idea of him starving made me scared.

"I ate. They gave me food once a day, along with a whole lot of beatings and whips."

I gazed at him with tearful eyes. He had been through hell. For a whole week, a whole fuckin week, he had been beaten.

He looked awful- A black eye, bloody arms and I could see several scars on his face. My breathing turned harsh and I gulped.

I was about to untie him when I heard couple of gun clicks. I froze and slowly turned around, almost having a heart attack at what I saw.

Around 30 men were pointing their guns at me and in the middle were Gaurav and...his look alike?

"What the...," I trailed off, unable to speak a damn word.

"Shocked?" Gaurav asked with sarcasm dripping in his voice. "I would be too, if I were in your place."

"How-how are there two of you?" I asked in shock.

They both chuckled.

"You see, Amrita. He is my brother, Manik," Gaurav said with a grin.

My eyes widened. He was Manik Saaho? Gaurav's twin brother?

All this seemed like a bollywood movie with many plot twists.

"Let's start from the beginning, yeah?" Manik asked with a grin.

I swallowed my sassy remark and nodded.

"Nandan Saaho, the most powerful mafia leader, AKA, my dear cousin brother. Being the first born, he got the title of the king, not me," Manik began, twirling the gun around his finger.

"He had everything- money, power, what not. And me?" He chuckled humorlessly, "I was the second resort. Unpopular, undesired, unwanted. So, we decided that we had enough and made a plan, a full-proof one that too, to overthrow him.  But then, unexpectedly, he decided to make Siddhant the leader. So I decided to kill him. Simple, Right? Wrong. There was only one obstacle- You."

My eyes snapped up to him when he said 'you.' Me?

He nodded.

"Yes, you. You were the chief of police, Ms. Amrita Nair," He said in a mocking tone, "You would definitely find out that we were behind Siddhant's death, so we planned to kill you too."

The moment those words left his mouth, Siddhant got all riled up.

"Don't you dare touch her!" He growled.

Gaurav chuckled dryly.

"Son!" Manik called out loudly.

Few seconds later, Jai, that same hacker guy, entered the room.

"Holy shit...," I trailed off, too shocked to comprehend a word.

"Oh Amrita, Jai is my son," Manik said with a mocking smile.

"Do your wife and daughters know about this?" I asked Gaurav.

He chuckled. "Not at all. They're naïve."

This was all so damn confusing. My head felt extremely dizzy. So Manik was Gaurav's twin brother and Jai was Manik's son?

"God, please tell me this is all a joke," I said softly, gripping my aching head.

They grinned.

"Oh, but it's not. Accept the reality," Jai said with a shrug.

"You," I snarled, "you were in that house the other day. How are you here?"

Jai chuckled. "It was staged. You don't really think I actually lived in that pathetic excuse of a house now, did you? I knew you would come looking after me, so I staged everything and lured you here. And you, being the naïve and curious bitch, did exactly what we thought you'd do."

I glared at them.

"You all are cowards!" I yelled, astonished by how even your own family could turn their backs on you for power and money. "You all are bloody traitors and cowards, you bitches!"

Jai came towards me with a harsh glare and the next thing I know is my head turning to the left. I felt a metallic taste on my lips. That bastard just slapped me. I heard Siddhant yell at him.

I fisted my hands in anger. No one fucking touched me like this.

I kicked him on his stomach making him spit out blood. He grabbed my hair and pulled it but I twisted his arm behind his back making him whimper.

"You need to work on your defense," I whispered, pushing Jai on the ground.

"Stop, right now, otherwise...," Manik threatened aiming the gun at Siddhant.

One click and he would die. Somehow, this idea didn't sit well with me and I started hyperventilating.

"Let Siddhant go and take me instead," I said, surprising myself as well.

"Amrita, have you gone mad?! Get out of here!" Siddhant yelled but I stood my ground.

"Oh, Amrita. We need you both dead to conquer the mafia," Jai said with a sick smirk.

Manik and Gaurav chuckled like psychos and left the room, but Jai stayed. He walked towards me and held my arm tightly and pushed me down on the ground beside some kind of pole. He tied my hands to the pole, behind my back, harshly.

"Don't touch her," Siddhant growled but Jai chuckled.

Jai took a step towards me but his phone started ringing.

Giving me a warning glare, he walked out of the warehouse, locking the door behind.

"Amu," Siddhant breathe out. "I'm sorry."

I furrowed my brows. "For what?"

"For everything. I am sorry for betraying the police, I am sorry for kidnapping you, I am sorry for forcing you to love me, I am sorry for making you the Donna of the mafia. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be here, tied up. I'm sorry."

My heart clenched.

"Sid, stop talking," I snapped, "You are loosing blood. Stay silent and relax."

The door of the warehouse slammed open and Jai walked in again.

He kneeled down to my level and gripped my jaw with his rough hand.

"I can spare Siddhant on one condition," He whispered and I nodded eagerly.

"Be my woman."

I stiffened. What?

"Be my woman," He repeated, "Together we can rule the mafia as the Don and Donna."
