"It's a gruesome scene. Are you ready, Itadori-kun? L/N?" Nanami asked as the three of you are about to enter the movie theater.

The audience at the movie theater died strange deaths. To solve the case, Itadori gets the mission as part of his training. As Gojo has promised, he will give you money for observing his kouhai and Yuuji.

"Who are those guys? Why are they at the scene before the forensics?" A manager from the movie theater ranted. "And two of them were minors, right?"

"I don't know for sure, either. But you saw them, too, right? Those corpses." The owner of the movie theater took a pause. "Those things aren't completely human."

"Pretend you didn't see it. If you want to keep this job until you retire, that is." The owner continued as he recalled what they saw earlier. The heads of the three students were disfigured as blood came out from their bodies.

"Their uniforms..." You pointed out.

"Do you know these people, L/N?" Nanami asked,

"I'm not sure since their faces are disfigured. But their uniforms, it says Satozakura High School. I used to study there." You answered.

"Let's learn more about this information later. First, let me ask you and Yuuji if you can see it?" Nanami fixed his glasses. "These are the remnants of sorcery." Nanami stared at the floor after checking the disfigured students.

"Nah, I can't see it at all," Yuuji answered.

"Me neither." You followed.

"That's because you're not trying to see it," Nanami stated. "Usually, we can confirm curses by sight like it's second nature to us."

"When you used cursed techniques, you leave traces behind. We call them 'remnants'. However, they're faint compared to things like cursed spirits and cursed energies." He continued to explain. "Please strain your eyes and look closely." 

You and Yuuji tried to focus on the floor. 

"Hmm... OOOH! I can see it!" You and Yuuji synced when you saw the hidden footprints.

"Of course. An independent shaman must be able to realize something's presence before seeing it."

"You know, it would be nice if you could, like, give praise to encourage improvement or something," Yuuji said after he felt disappointed with himself because of what Nanami said.

"I don't praise or speak ill of others. I conform to the truth and judge by that. That is the way I am." Nanami followed where the footprints go to. "Back in the day, I thought that society was the same but... you don't need to hear that story, right? We'll follow the remnants." 

You and Yuuji followed Nanami after stating his orders. 

"Alright! Let's go all out." Yuuji bumped his fist to his palm. 

"No. If it can be done casually, let's do it casually."

'Somehow, we don't see eye to eye at all. Guess he's not very responsive...' Yuuji thought as he made a disappointed face.

"Ahh, and LN, I advise you to keep a certain distance from the scene. If the situation is a bit too much for you, feel free to run away."

"Yes, sir." You simply respond.

......... Before entering the movie theater

Your new school was currently in summer break so you couldn't attend until the end of September. It's been a month since you've joined Gojo and Yuuji with unannounced training, and the time has finally come where you could meet Gojo's so-called friend.
