Chapter 29

Life

The next morning came and Maki woke all of you and your friends up for breakfast. You had no plans to tell the others about Sukuna. You can't let them know about what happened between Yuuji. You were too ashamed.

"Itadori hasn't woke up yet?" Megumi asked Maki.

"He told me earlier that he'' be taking a quick jog." Maki sat on her chair. "Let's eat?"

After breakfast, Yuuji finally came back with his hair drenched in sweat. It was clear that he just came back from exercising. You wanted to greet him good morning while you were sitting in the living room but before you could even wave at him, he looked away from you and went straight to his room. You looked stupid leaving your hand in the air. 

You acted as nothing happened and continued to watch TV. That was embarrassing. Well, maybe he was just too tired from running.

"Y/N, what are you watching?" Nobara sat next to you watching a new anime series.

The whole day was just awkward between you and Yuuji. It bothered you so much how he would look away and act like he couldn't see you whenever you pass by each other. Lunch came and he was still ignoring your presence.

"Yuu - " You attempted to start a conversation with him but he quickly turned away and entered his room.

Maki was also walking through the halls, noticing how Yuuji was acting differently towards you. Maki was more perceptive than the rest of the Tokyo folks on how close you with Yuuji. She can tell just by how Yuuji kept on looking at you during the baseball match. You even call each other by your first names. 

You then walked back towards the living room to continue watching the series with Nobara but you saw Maki with a pile of papers in front of you.

"Maki-san." You walked towards her to offer some help but she just disagrees saying their just papers then continues to go into her room. 

"I'm fine. These are just lightweight." She said.

When it was time for cooking dinner, Panda told that it was you and Yuuji's turn to cook. 

"Itadori, I heard from Fushiguro that you cook well. We want you to cook for dinner tonight. Is it okay? L/N here will accompany you.

Yuuji looked hesitant. "Uhm, sure... But is it okay if Fushiguro could help me instead - " 

Nobara cuts him off. "What do you mean by that?! L/N here cooks well! It's even better than Fushiguro's."

You looked at Megumi checking what reaction he made after hearing Nobara's opinion. "I don't mind, really." He assured you, unphased with Nobara's outlook. "Itadori, I would like to accept the offer but I have to go to Gojo's house. I need to pass some papers with Zen'in-senpai."
