I was pretty happy to remember this one. Took me a while because I had two other dreams after that were weird but dumb. Pretty sure I had this dream before. Think maybe a few years ago they started? Not sure, I did not log it. These dreams usually take place in a forest full of super tall spruce trees. Or maybe they are pine trees? Don't know, I am not a tree expert! In this forest is a big three-story cabin-house next to this dark, ghastly cave on the side of a mountain. The cabin is all nice and cozy, made out of logs, and has bits of the color red in places. Looks like the ones in Tennessee on the mountains basically. Most of my family is in the dream, everybody but mom and dad. Have a few cousins (they tend to interchange, sometimes they are not even my "cousins"), a couple of my aunts and uncles, and "friends" (old acquaintances of who I used to work with, don't even remember their names, to be honest, just filler peeps in the dream I guess?). Sometimes, I see myself running around- meaning I am not myself in the dream, I think I am the park supervisor (cause we are in a forest) or another "family friend". I tend to avoid everybody in these dreams because they irritate and distract me from what I am supposed to be doing. It's almost like they are doing this on purpose because my family doesn't really irritate me, not to the point where I actively avoid them. The Me running around, we never interact because I have a rule to not interact with Me's in the dream- one time I did and it pretty much confuses my brain big time, causing a complete disaster of camera povs. Most of the dream is me going in and out of the cabin, well, more like escaping the cabin. The cabin kind of acts like a trap. Once I go in there, everybody in the whole damn dream wants to talk to me about random nonsense. I try to be polite half the time but sometimes you just gotta jump out a window. Literally. The goal in the dream is to enter the cave and get to the other side. This cave has no ground, the bottom is the Void. If I fall in there, I will die. The cave is inexplicably dark as well and the ceiling is full of sharp stalagmites so no shouting or else I also die. On the plus side, there is a wooden bridge pathway to cross through the cave to the other side. The cons of this bridge; thin, old, missing planks, sways in the wind, can't see it in the dark, and it has NO railings. Then the final fear point, monsters. I admit, it's not as bad as the "drowning in the dark deep ocean with sea monsters circling you" dream but it's still pretty bad. Though I do have more determination in this one- must be because I can start over if needed (more control). So overall, I have a 85% chance of dying. The other 15% is if I pretend I'm a potato and lay there. But there are these flying monster things in the cave so that is also unlikely. These flying monsters, I have never seen, but I imagine they are gaunt and probably look like gargoyles. Their wings are loud and they like to screech...could be gigantic bats? Whatever they do not like to exit the cave so that's good for my family who thought it'd be a great idea to camp out next to this gargantuan cave (the entrance is bigger than the house). So far, I think I manage to get into 10% of the cave before I chicken out or die. OR both. Depends. Fun times. At one point, I attempted to crawl on my hands and knees but I ended up freezing about halfway through because the whole height thing got to me. I fell off trying to turn around. Trying once more, I brought a person with me and made them go in front. Soon, they were taken by a flying thing with screams and all, I made a mad dash forward. My foot broke through the bridge and before I knew it, my foot got grabbed and I went bye-bye. More attempts later and I still died lots; leap of faith, eaten, stalagmite impalement, and my little cousin trying to follow me with a bowl of watermelon- I jumped in front of them when a winged beast tried to snatch them. last remembered attempt was that I ran recklessly on the bridge while jumping and NOT looking down. It was going pretty good actually. Until I got a stupid idea and grabbed onto a flying creature trying to tame it or something. It snapped and bit at me causing me to fall right off. I did grab onto the bridge but the bridge flipped right over causing me to lose grip and plummet towards the void. I woke up frustrated and went back to sleep. Stupid caves and their dumb voids.
