This is a long dream, well, descriptive-wise. Writing my dreams down is making my remembrance of dreams better, meaning more details. First of all, I looked freaking awesome. I was wearing this silver armor set that had engravings of a lizard on the chest and these goat horn things on the helmet with tufts of brown bird feathers running along the horns- horns went slightly outward and curved down then up to the back of my head. My hair was cut short just above my shoulders, this didn't bother me. Underneath the armor was this black chainmail type material and I was wearing this belt with three scalbards on it; two swords on both sides and a small one behind the dip in my back for a dagger. Guess I dual-wield! My boots surprisingly were not armored, they were just simple brown combat boots. Looked like my old ones that I wore till they were torn. Also, despite having two swords and a dagger, I had a longbow equipped too which slung over my shoulder with the quiver full of these iron-tipped arrows- I had a feeling some had rattlesnake venom, specifically the diamondback; just random dream knowledge dream-me had from "memories" of making the arrows myself with a small vial of the venom over a campfire in the middle of some desert. One bad thing about all of this cool stuff was the fact I could not move very well or sneakily for that matter. Hope to the gods I don't have to scratch my back. Anyways, I was standing guard on a train in one of the cars. It was late afternoon and a bad blizzard was coming our way meaning a slow night was ahead. I didn't know if the train would stop due to bad weather but this blizzard has been whispered about for weeks in the kingdom. I even wore a thin black tunic under my armor to resist the cold. I had orders from my general to guard this train for a few days BECAUSE of this storm and was even put in charge; apparently, the blizzards have dangerous monsters that roam in them (Reminds me of the Fold in Shadow and Bone), I had my own little group of soldiers right now. "Memories" told me I was well respected for my feats in combat and survival since I was lost for over a month in some caving expedition - protecting the princess as she studied crystals- and the last they heard of me was a scream as I broke a hole through the wooden bridge over a chasm while fighting ranged bandits and fell right in. Guessing they didn't expect me to come back. Secretly, I had my own plans, and being a soldier was just a ruse, I wanted to rise up in the kingdom and get into the castle; reasons why were either not mentioned or I just can't remember them, just knew royal guards were granted access into the castle. Well, now we got Dream-me's past and goals out of the way (jeez, it was like the beginning of a show, can't believe I didn't Dream-Time-Travel from all of it). After having some mindless conversation about carrots with my team, I told them off into their own separate train cars and went to where my station was. My train car was full of people, all poofy and big from their winter-furs. I felt important looking after these wealthy folks. The train started to go and I kept guard, occasionally looking out the window watching the clear night sky turn into a heaping white-filled chaos of snow. The blizzard has started. I walked up and down the isles a bit, seeing some asleep and others minding their business. My mind was occupied from hearing something skittering on the roof of the t-car (train car). I convinced myself it was maybe hail since the storm was bad. One of my soldiers busted in roughly, I had to help him shut the t-car door and quiet the people who were being a bit rude just because they got a little bit of cold and snow on them. Looks like we got extreme winds as well. He started to stutter and I waited patiently, the guy was either scared out of his mind or really cold. "T-h-he train c-conductor i-i-i-s dead!" he whispered frantically. I was in disbelief, "But we're still rolling?" I questioned motioning to the front. "A-a-a creature d-drives us, it g-gutted the conductor.-rest is gibberish I can't remember-," the soldier was visibly shaking as he used his hands to mimic pointy teeth and claws. I put on a serious, commanding tone and told him to guard the t-car, I started to head towards the front. Each time I traveled in between cars was fear-inducing, we were going really fast and the little gear things holding the cars together were caked in ice and the wind was threatening to blow me away as I trudged carefully across. The whole time, the passengers were disgruntled from me slamming into the doors of the t-cars and letting in the severe cold and some of the snow, each time I would apologize and try to act like nothing was wrong so as to not cause mass panic. Finally, I made it to the front, I had to crawl over the cart full of coal and that was scary. There was bad lighting and the high winds made it super difficult to walk over them, lightning dashed across the sky during the blizzard. I slipped off a few times and each time I got grabbed by the shoulders and put back onto the coal cart. The last time, I ACTUALLY said, "Thank you," to the invisible force- probably Vincent if we get into theories (throwback to that other dream with a train where I fell off a bunch and was put back on). Now, wait for it....I heard in my head, "You're very welcome, be vigilant," ahhh yes, nice. I go to where you operate the train to not see any blood, guts, or dead body- not even this "creature" that did it and was supposed to be driving the train. So, I went inside the little area to see the fuel tank with coal and fire. The fire is vicious because of all the coal, too much. I see two levers on each side, probably not accurate at all but the right one accelerates the train while the left one acts as a brake. I pull the brake, it doesn't slow down because of all the fuel. I take my helmet off and scratch my head, turning back to see if there is a shovel with the coal cart to maybe scoop some out from the fuel, there is some wendigo-looking creature there. Gaunt and bony, some bones jut out and the thing's jaw is spiky and hangs open a bit to reveal sharp, bloody teeth. Claws take up half of its fingers and its eyes are big- fly-like. Like if Gollum and a wasp had a baby and fed it bones without meat. Imma call him...Skreee! Skreee clicked his jaws at me and scraped his tail across the floor while screeching at me. So, he is, let's say, three feet away, a sword would be perfect to use in this situation...I pull out my bow and notch an arrow, aiming at him. In a tiny space. No room. PeRfEcT. This doesn't work I figure out, maybe I should pull out one of my two swords or dagger but no, I drop the bow and charge towards Skreee with an a r r o w. Not even the venomous one. I was doing SO GOOD in this dream, man. He moved out of the way so now I'm back on the coal cart, I throw the arrow, it bounces off of Skreee, he makes an angry noise. I throw some coal at him, once again, not using my weapons. Skreee eats the coal as I throw it at him! I keep throwing coal and soon, Skreee starts to make weird clicking noises and stopped growling at me, he sits down and looks at me,?I tamed him? Thrilled I have a new companion pet, I feed him some more coal and pat his head. Good times until I heard a ground-shaking roar from my right and above. Lightning struck just right, enough to illuminate this GIANT, two paired winged version of Skreee with saber-like teeth flying right at the train. The Mother. Skreee was a baby. "Woah," is all I manage to say as she crashes her clawed talon-hands into the side of the train, almost knocking it off the rails. I did not fall surprisingly and pulling out both swords, started to approach the mother with determination for the upcoming fight. I pick up speed and make a daring leap with both arms outstretched to slash the beast in the lightning-blizzard storm- too much adrenaline. I jolted awake because I accidentally chopped my hand at the wall, not hard, just enough to make noise and wake me up. It hurt a little bit but I was more interested in getting back into the dream, too bad I failed to do this.
