Chapter Nine: Truth or Dare but Truth hurts more

May's POV

The alcohol always got to me. If I EVER told you that it didn't, just know it's a lie. I am a straight-up cheap drunk. Hence, the current situation I was in did not bode well for my current state of mind: drunk and confused.

Vera, Kaida, and myself were positioned on various sofas and chairs which were situated in the middle of the room. Felix, Chris, and Hyunjin were sitting opposite us. The six of us had managed to squeeze through the narrow corridor and amicably situate ourselves.

I looked across at Vera who was sitting on the single black chair, eyes locked on Chris sitting across her in a similar chair. "They seem familiar," I mutter under my breathe. Kaida's sharp ears heard my comment, leans over and mouths, 'who?'

I nudge my chin in the direction of Vera and then at Chris. Kaida understood straightaway and her gleamed with excitement and conceit. I forgot she was tipsy. Kaida plus alcohol was never a good mix. I regret telling her now.

"Vera, you and Chris seem close, care to share?" Kaida asks loud enough to capture everyone's attention, the guys now staring intently at the couple. The air around Kaida was heavy with vanity, whilst everyone else anticipated Vera's response with curiosity and interest.

"Uhh....I...I.." Vera was startled and started to dig her nails into the palms of her hand. She did that when she was nervous. Vera isn't one to lie and open up easily. For such a diva who's been in the spotlight her whole life, she does get shy when put in an uncomfortable situation, like now. Vera wasn't looking up anymore, almost like defeat. Her eyes were fixed on her hands, hoping that the sudden confrontation would go away. I can see agitation written all over her pretty face. I needed to do something.

"Why don't we play a game?" I suggested, instantly changing the topic. Luckily, the attention on Vera was all diverted and five pairs of eyes were now peering at me. "It'll be fun and besides I need to sober up before I head home tonight," I say convincingly.

"Oh Yes I love a good party game", Kaida says clapping her hands in excitement, bouncing in her seat near me. Yup, she was definitely drunk, no doubt about that.

"Sounds good," Felix smiles at me.

Chris and Hyunjin nod in agreement whilst Felix walks over to the mini bar and grabs another bottle of white alcohol which I couldn't make out the name of at this very moment. Given my current state, I can't even read. My goodness, I must be off the rails.

I look over at Kaida whose giggling at herself in the corner, "Yes! More alcohol, so fella's how about a round of truth or dare? If you can't do the dare or answer the truth, you take shot, cool?" She seemed to remember just fine how to play truth or dare.

"No sober games," Felix says placing the bottle and some shot glasses on the coffee table in front of us. "The night has only begun for us," he smirks at me before pouring the first glass. He fills it up to the top and picks it up, pointing it at Vera. Let the games begin.

"Birthday girl?" Felix points to Vera who straightens in her seat, "who did you really want to see tonight?" Vera blushes a bright pink upon hearing the question. "I can't say," Vera responds before taking the shot glass from Felix's hand and gulping it down.

Kaida cheers and laughs, "slow down girl, you could've just said your parents, at this rate you'll be drunk before May and I." I disagree imminently, there was no one in the room as tipsy as I was. But that didn't stop me from yelling, "next question homies?".

Vera quickly fills the next shot glass and points to Kaida, "why are you still single?" she asks in sweet revenge. This earned light laughs from the guys.
