She's a freak, yet he saw her beyond that.

┗━ Jennie Kim is always placed on the sidelines, living in the shadows. She is known to be the geek, the freak, and the crazy senior who never wins at Seoul University.
H...
My lips were lifted in a bright grin as I tied my hair in a high ponytail, staring in front of the school's mirror.
It was finally the day that I would try out for the school's cheering team. Blue and white banners were plastered around in celebration.
Our school's cheering team is known to be a powerhouse and champion for years. The standards are higher than average.
I scoffed, licking my lower lip in anticipation, craning my neck to the sides.
I'm confident in my skills, I mean I'm Jennie Kim. I can catch attention when I want to.
I stared at myself in the mirror, my appearance looks different from usual. I look cleaner, pretty I think.

Only put on a bit of eyeliner and shaped my brows to look pleasant for the tryouts. To be a cheerleader is to cheer, not scare people.
Too bad, tho.
It's been a while since I cleaned myself.
The cheerleading tryouts are happening in the school gym, everything about cheering makes my heart flutter in excitement.
I was washing my hands, I looked up when I heard a click and my eyes made eye contact with an irritated Lalisa Manoban, the popular cheerleader, the captain to be precise.
She's only a Sophomore yet she grabbed the crown of the previous captain without even trying hard. She's that talented and her aura is something.
"Ugh," she groaned, rolling her eyes and went to a sink that was further than mine. I took notice of her actions, letting out a sarcastic scoff, and smiled.
"Need anything?" I asked her, moving closer to her sink. She raised an eyebrow, taking a step further from me.
"Why would I need anything for you? Stupid," she looks at me disgustedly, grabbing the tissues and wiped off her wet hands.
"Go away if you want to pass the tryouts," she sighed after finishing wiping her hands, facing in my direction with a crossed arm.
"I find you weird, but being weird doesn't mean it makes you less talented. I wanna see what you got," she started, a hand on her slim waist.
"I know that the other cheerleaders despise you, but you still deserve a shot. Try your best, I'll be watching," she gave me a short nod before she left the washroom, leaving me baffled.
No one has ever tried giving me a shot in anything, that was a first.
I suddenly felt a jolt of adrenaline, I felt pumped up. I'll prove to those cheerleaders that Jennie Kim does not settle to be a normal cheerleader.
I'll become one of the best.
I grinned and exited the restroom, full of confidence. I strutted down the hallways, the usual happened as students stared at me.
"Who's that chick? Damn."
"She looks pretty, is she new?"
I stopped in my tracks and went near the guys that were talking about me. They both flinched when I leaned forward with a small innocent smile.
"You guys couldn't recognize me?" I pouted, a finger on my cheek as I was trying to do aegyo.
"I-I...may we ask for your name?" the brown-haired pretty boy asked, I tilted my head and gave him a bright smile. I gave them a boop on their noses and took a step back.
"Why couldn't you remember your friend, how dare you?" I huffed, crossing my arms, and walked away.
As if I would tell them that I'm Jennie. I don't want people to treat me differently just because my looks changed, that's just stupid.
People are only attracted to pretty, not something real.
Just like people are drawn to fake jewelry rather than the muddy diamond.
I lifted my hand to check my watch, ah shit. I immediately sprinted towards the gym.
"Ugh, go away. I'm gonna be late," I accidentally bumped into someone and fell on the ground, I frowned looking up to see the ugly ass.
"How clumsy," he scoffed, turning around and started to walk away. I rolled my eyes, slowly trying to stand up, but I was abruptly lifted as a hand was pulling me upwards using my armpits.
"So slow, hurry up! I want to find that crazy madwoman," Taehyung grunted angrily, pulling me up to stand up. I looked at him with wide eyes and stood up fast taking a step back.
"Step aside, I need to go," he glared passing through me with a cold murderous aura, a chilled shiver ran down my spine.
I stood still on my spot until I shook my head and continued to run fast towards the gym.
The wind brushed through my hair, passing through the crowded hallway in a hurry. I huffed as I reached the front door of the school gym.
Loud cheers were heard, my hand pushing the door opened to see the famous cheerleaders doing their winning piece.
I hurriedly climbed up the bleachers and found a good spot, I smiled seeing them heading to the center stage with so much energy and hype.
(A.N: credits to the rightful owner, this is how to imagine the cheering squad for this story.)
My heart is thumping loudly inside my chest as I stared at the routine, an unconscious smile appeared on my lips. My eyes focused on their performance, I fell in love with cheer again.
I used to always stay on the side and cheer for the cheerleader, but this year, I want to cheer beside them. Our school's prideful cheerleading squad.
I couldn't stop myself and screamed on top of my lungs, squealing when they finished their performance. My eyes made eye contact with Lalisa, she gave me a nod before she went to the sidelines.
"Alright aspiring cheerleaders! Let's get the tryouts started!" the speakers boomed, creating loud shrieks and shouts from the bleachers. I shouted along in excitement, laughing along in pure bliss.
This is Jennie Kim, a chance came.
