"Thea Thornton if you don't get your ass in this house!" Her dad yelled from the house cursing his daughter as she ran hand in hand with the blonde Pogue.
"Hes going to kill me later." she said stepping into the small boat
"Yeah, whatever. Is he going to take away you phone?" JJ taunted
"No." She pushed him with a smile.

It was 4th of July and the group was going out further on the water together to watch the fireworks that the Kooks set off, most being illegal. The group jumped in the water as the first set went up.

JJ and Thea swam together and she wrapped her body around his in the water. She pointed to the fireworks in awe, while he looked at her in awe.

"Thea what were you thinking?!" Her brother scolded her

"I don't know okay! Im sorry! Quit acting like you're so much better than me anyway." She yelled

"Dad is going to kill you! Rule number one about doing Coke. Dont let people take videos!"

"I just wanted to try it and i looked hot so i posted it."

"you mention one thing about me i will kill you."

"fuck off Topper."

The girl turned a corner and met her fathers hand across her face.

"You're a druggie now?! It's because of those pogues!"

"disgusting." Topper shook his head

"How many times?!"

"it was my first! Dont act like you didnt do drugs in high school Dad."

"Thea. Go to your room."

"Gladly."

She flipped him off and bolted up the stairs to lock her door. She was honestly deathly afraid of her father, and she knew that set him off.

She grabbed the pills in her jewelry box and crushed them with her mug full of bracelets. She snorted the powder and fell back onto her ridiculously nice bed.

She thought about how her dad blamed the pogues for the drugs. it was Rafe who forced her into it, and she hated herself for letting him. She got bored later that night and snuck out.

One of the Kooks throws a party every night because that is all they do. But this time it was a Kegger to start off the summer.

"Dads gonna kill you." Topper said as he ran into his sister at the party

"i wish he would."

"yeah whatever. Don't record yourself this time."

he patted her head and went out to the beach. She followed but from a distance. Thea haven't been to a kegger since the summer before freshman year.

This will be interesting she thought

she waited in line to get a beer, forgetting about who probably threw the kegger. She usually avoided the group out of guilt, she tried to give them space. Thea didn't know how to be apart af the group after high school started so she just stopped interacting with anyone.

Finally she got to the front and the person handing out the beer was John B.

"Woah." he said

Her eyes got slightly wider.

"Thea." JJ said looking at the girl

JJ was surprised. Mostly on how she avoided a group of people on a small island, but also that she showed up. He looked at Thea. She looked sad, so sad. He had a hit of a familiar pain when he met wyes with her. She looked a little on the thinner side. He looked down to see necklace with a peace sign attached, he smiled.

"Thank you." She took the cup from John B

"Im going to go talk to her." Kiara said chasing after Thea

"Thea!" She called her name

The girl turned around and was met with a hug from Kiara. She returned the hug, eventually. She hadn't been hugged in a minute.

"Why have you been avoiding us?" Kie asked

"I don't know, just things happen."

"Like what?"

"oh you know, Things."

JJ tried not to watch the girls talk.

"Your still not over her man?" John B asked

"I am!"

"mhm."

Kie was talking about Theas new hair.

"You used to keep it short."

"i changed that, i look hotter now anyways." She laughed

Then there was a familiar hand that held hers and was squeezing hard.

"Kiara."

"Rafe."

"Hun, what have you been talking about."

"Just everything knew that has been going on." Thea said trying to wiggle her hand out of his painful grasp

"I'll be inside." he said bringing her hand to his lips and letting go

Thea grabbed her hand and massaged the blood flow back to her fingers.

"Im going to grab another beer before i go inside."

Kiara followed her old friend back to the boys with the beer.

"another one already.?" JJ asked with a smirk

"Rafe took my other one."

"ahh...Rafe, How is that going?" his eyes flashed down to the girls hand

"its great." She smiled

he gave the beer to the girl getting closer to her.

"you don't have to lie to me." he said in a whisper

the girl felt a rush spread throughout her body. it was fear.

"im not lying." she whispered back with another smile

"yeah. Did you change your number?" he asked pulling away to pour another beer

"No."

"text me if you need me." he said

she nodded and turned around to go into the small house where she saw Rafe. Staring. the rush of fear came over her again. She quickly walked to him.
