Thea found jj a few hours later, He had left to check up on his dad after Thea had calmed down.

"Whats with the sign?" She asked the boy who was fixing his bike

"oh uh eviction notice. Its for non payment or something. I dont know this place sucks anyway. Great to be back in the Outer Banks right?"

"Yeah, tell me about it. JJ when i was packing up i grabbed my phone and there was an email on it. JJ he found big john."

"Seriously?" JJ looked at her with a smile

Thea nodded

"Damn." JJ laughed

"He thinks we're close to the same treasure that singh was talking about."

JJ nodded and continued working on his bike.

"J. I came out here to check on you." Thea sat down

"Im not the one who needs to be worried about." JJ looked at her tilting his head

"What do you mean?" Thea asked

"Your telling me. Someone who's grown up around alcoholics and..and drug users that what happened last night was alcohol?" He crossed his arms

"JJ. Stop. I dont wanna talk about this."

"Well Thea were gonna. You look sick. Are you using again. Please just be honest with me."

"Wow. This is what i get for coming to check up on my boyfriend."

"Thea, dont turn this around."

"JJ. I dont like talking about this. You know that. My dad, my eating disorder, fine we can talk about that but the addiction. No."

"Are you using?"

"No."

JJ looked at her. He didn't believe her. Thats when he saw her pupils that were the size of boulders.

"Your lying. Your high right now!"

"What are you talking about!"

"What are you on Thea?"

"JJ! Im fucking sober!"

"None of us are every sober! So that doesnt make sense!" he laughed

Thea looked at her hands. JJ came over to her and held them.
