"am i expelled yet?" Thea asked her dad
"no." he answered blankly
thea groaned
"But..i will let you transfer. im tired of you ruining the Thornton name. I don't care if you wanna live on the cut. im done. you can come home when you are ready to be a Thornton, not a pogue!"
"Am i officially enrolled?" Thea asked
"Yes, your mom did it this morning."
"Thank You." She smiled
"No Thea..Fuck. You." He said turning away from her, her smile fades completely.
Thea was a daddy's girl most of her childhood until she was around 9. Everything changed. The constant betrayal was painful. Even how quickly he turned away just then, tore her apart. She ran upstairs and took anything she wanted. She packed everything she needed with a smile in her face. Kie let JJ use use the car to pick Thea up.
When he arrived she tossed everything in the back of the car. Thea's father watched the blonde boy help her load things into the car. JJ looked up to see him walking towards them, staring JJ down.
"JJ. Get in the ca-"
"Thea. It's fine." He opened the car door for her. She sat down and asked him once again to let it go. JJ reassured her. She buried her head in her hands and waited for the conversation to end.
"Yes?" JJ asked approaching the man
"You don't deserve her." He said, "Your nothing. I have done everything for her. You turned her on her family."
"Sir, I saved her from this family. I saved her from you."
"Boy you better be careful or."
"Or what? You gonna Call my dad? I think you and him would get along quite well actually." JJ put his hands in his pockets
"What did you do to her? What..What did you two do?"
"When we were 14?" JJ asked with a smirk
He nodded slightly.
"Ahh, well sir.." He laughed, "Do you really want to know?"
"Yes." He crossed his arms
"Ok, well we smoked weed. we drank beer. We had fun. And we..We had fun."
"Leave." He said his hands in fists
"Bye bye." JJ waved and got in the car
The drive was peaceful for sometime, JJ listened to the girl mumble along to the music.
"What did you two talk about?" She asked
"Well, he told me you were to good for me. Then he asked what i did to you, and what we did."
"Did you tell him?" She asked
He just gave her the im sorry look
"You told my dad im not a virgin!" Her mouth dropped
"Thea he basically already knew he just wanted me to say it."
"That was our secret.." Thea was a little hurt that he told, but it also happened a while ago.
"I know..im sorry. i kinda got a little cocky. it was a dick move but he asked, and i didn't wanna lie. He's the only person i told." JJ trued to redeem himself
"You really haven't told anyone?" She asked
"No, you told me you wanted it to not be a big deal so i tried to keep it on the DL for you."

Thea watched as Pope hurried back over to he is seat. She looked at JJ with confusion, he shrugged. He showed them the letter with the wax seal.
"is that.." She squinted
"is that the wheat symbol?" Kie asked
"Yeah." Pope nodded
Theas mouth dropped.
"What the F-.. Fu-..Fu- Fudge." JJ caught himself causing Thea to snort.
After finishing the tests which Thea found to be ridiculously easy, and most likely got an A on, they all rushed to the Library.
"Am i gonna have to beat you with your protractor like what's going on!" JJ asked being shushed by the librarian
"Seriously Pope you are driving me insane." Kie said sitting down
"Okay so that guy was from the scholarship committee. Take a look at this. Read it." JJ snagged the note from his hand.
JJ opened the note a sat there staring at it.
"Out loud." Kie reminded
"..I cant read cursive." he said
they all looked at Thea. "Give it." She held out her hand. JJ handed her the note.
Thea read, "Dear Mr. Hayward, I am reaching out because i have material evidence that can exonerate John B. Routledge." She paused looking at the group, "It is of vital importance that you come and meet with me in person at my offices 27 King Street, Charleston tonight at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Please come alone." She furrowed her eyebrows. "Well that was a lot."
"Charleston?" JJ asked
"I know it's like an eight hour drive, plus ferry. how would we get there tonight."
"Yeah we would have to leave like right now." JJ sighed
"I have free period." Kie and Thea said in sync, then hyped each other up for a minute before being cut off.
"Material evidence? What does that even mean?" JJ asked
"It means he can clear John B."
"Oh, Shit! We're going to Charleston!" JJ yelled, again earning a shush from the Librarian.
"I gotta tell my mom." Kie sighed
"Look if we get it this time. Not giving it to Shoupe. K." Thea said
Pope sighed.
"What?" Kie asked
"Not sure, but whoever this Limbrey person is might be related to the Captain of the Royal Merchant."
"Bum Bum Buuuuuuuumm." Thea said, earning glares

"Just become a complete disappointment like me and boom problem solved." Thea laughed
Pope started the engine and they made there way to the ferry.
"I love Ferries. They are like my favorite things ever." Thea told the blonde hopping into the bed of the truck
"They are pretty cool." He said rolling a joint
"There gonna have to kidnap me. Tie me up. Throw me in a van."
"Well i say..we just crumble the herb right now." He handed the joint to Kie.
"Hey i wanted some first!" She said to JJ.
Kie handed her the joint after inhaling the smoke.
