Chapter 16- Final Mission

It has been 2 weeks and 5 days since Carla was born. It also happens to be the day of the biggest mission of our lives. The day where it would all finally all be over. Everything we worked for over these years would finally be worth it. All the lives lost will be avenged and will not be in vain.

We all stood on our horses behind the gate. Eren and I sat in the front as we would be dealing with most of the titans. We looked into each other's eyes and I could see I wasn't the only one who was incredibly nervous.

All whilst I was in a coma the scouts had managed to kill off a lot of titans with very little to no lives lost. leaving us with at most 100 titans alive, and today we are going to kill every single one of them. Rodd's reign of paradise will finally be over...

but so will my family.

---------FLASHBACK TO 1 HOUR AGO----------

I held Carla in my arms. Her small soft hand rested on the side of my face as she looked into my eyes and giggled. I laughed back with her. She was such a happy baby. It always took me by surprise how much her eyes looked like Eren's. Depending on the lighting they would look like emeralds or sapphires. I couldn't tell you whether her eyes were blue or green. But the same goes with Eren. At least with the mission today I could create a life for her worth living for, away from all the chaos.

I touched her nose with my own then rested my forehead against hers, "Mommy will always love you no matter what, don't you ever forget that" I said my voice shakey and tears filling my eyes.

"you say that like you're going to die," Levi said leaning against the door frame.

"This is a risky mission Levi anything could happen"

"You have weird powers, A titan for a husband, and me to protect you. Nothing is going to happen to you," Levi said annoyed

"but Levi if anything were to happen to Eren and me... I want you to take care of Carla" I said looking at Carla stroking her tiny head. My heart tightened.

"but nothing is going to happen, I have to go talk to commander Erwin," Levi said leaving the room.

I then put Carla back in her crib tucking her in and giving her a kiss on the forehead before going to go find Eren.

While walking down the hallway I spotted him talking to Mikasa and Armin about the mission.

"Sorry for interrupting, Eren I need to talk to you for a second" I said grabbing his hand and pulling him to our room.

I gently closed the door and made sure no one was near before I began to speak.

"I should have told you sooner but there is something you should know" I said shakily

"and that is?"

"This is going to be hard to hear and I'm not 100% sure I'm even right" I said fiddling my thumbs

Eren put my hands in his and tilted my chin up so I looked into his eyes. But I looked down again.

"Rod Reiss's last words to us were 'everything comes with a price' and mentioned that he had not shared everything with us to this curse. I believe that if we kill all the titans something might happen to us. A kind of an eye for an eye situation. I know that Rod Reiss had a craving for power but would he really kill all those people and turn them into titans just to do so. I believe that If all the pure titans die the founding titan will die as well. And since I was created as this other end to the curse made to defeat the titans. What if my price for having this power is that once I kill all of the pure titans I die as well."

Eren couldn't even speak.

I hugged him tight and my face was nudged in his chest and I started bawling. "I wanted to watch Carla grow up, or for her to at least have one parent... because of who I am I couldn't give her that. But I also can't sacrifice any more lives for these titans, they have to be put to their end. I can't put my selfish reason before the good of everyone"
