Mia finally stopped sobbing and let go of me. I was just there, absolutely shocked. I raised my hand and wiped the remaining tears off her face. "I just don't know what to do..." She said. I looked at her, hope in my eyes. "She can't control you if you fight back. Don't be her robot. You're strong. I know you can fight back." I said. She smiled and nodded. Mia held my hand and raised it up. She suddenly pushed me back and out of her mind.

We opened our eyes suddenly and I looked around only to see spear aimed square at my head.

They say that when you shiver, someone is stepping on your future burial site. Someone must have been stomping on my future grave at that moment. I couldn't stop shivering at the scene around me. Bebe had a large puncture wound in her wing and was backed up to the edge of the rooftop. Cherry was pretty much guarded from helping by four Scouts with iron spears. Glow Worm was backed into a corner by the Captain. Whisp and Code were standing in the middle of it. Right next to us. Mia scrambled to her feet, a part of her still under control.

Mia looked at the throwing knife in her hand. "First Lieutenant. Would you like to do the honors in destroy the 'protectors of the multiverse?'" She asked, mocking us. I closed my eyes and let tears roll down my cheeks. "You don't need to be their robot..." I murmured. Mia looked at them and closed her eyes. Without hesitation, she sliced at Code's hand, making her drop the spear aimed at me. I gasped and snapped my head to her. Code screeched and sliced at my wing, my weak point. I cried out in pain. Mia quickly picked me up and dashed me to the side. I finally got to look at Mia's real eyes. Bright blue and crystal grey. They were absolutely beautiful. "You get out the fire escape and wait for us down there." She ordered. I nodded, holding my wing in pain. Mia looked at it. "We'll fix that later, keep off it." She said. I nodded again and raced down the fire escape. Once I was at the bottom, I created a small dove and made it fly up to see the scene as I used my magic to watch from its eyes. Mia raced over, and kicked the Captain in the back of her knees. She fell over and Glow Worm raced over to Mia, hugging her. Mia picked him up and raced him to the fire escape and told him to go to me. He ran over and dashed down the fire escape. Mia stuck a throwing knife in one of the Scouts arms, the other three guarding Cherry rushed over to the injured Scout to help. Cherry ran over and down to the fire escape without saying anything to Mia. Mia looked at Bebe, and their eyes locked. "You and the others get out of here. I can take them." Bebe said. I had never seen neither Code nor Whisp so frozen. They hadn't even tried to fight, they were so confused. Or... Were they planning something...? I shook it off and kept watching the scene. Mia was nervous but complied. She ran down the fire escape and demanded to let her see through the dove. I allowed her to see with me and we watched the scene. Bebe was using her sickles to fend off the Scouts but Code smiled grimly. She summoned a spear and threw it at Bebe. The spear hit her wing and threw her back.

She was at the edge of the rooftop.

She was suddenly falling. I screamed in shock and fear. Mia looked at me. My wing was damaged. Even if it's slightly damaged, I can barely fly. Mia looked at Glow Worm. Too small. His tiny bug wings could hardly even fly. Cherry was also too small to help. Mia looked at Bebe, still falling from the rooftop's enormous height. She bolted to the wall where Bebe was falling next too. I used the dove to see the scene. Mia ran over and took off her jacket hood. I gasped at what I saw. Two horns, one gold and one black. How did her hood hide that? How had we not noticed that? She took off the rest of her jacket. I saw she had wings, but I couldn't see what kind as the were still folded to her back. Mia had a long, back, lizard-looking tail. She threw the jacket to the ground and spread her wings. They were black and gold dragon wings. I was starstruck. Mia kept running and took off flying. She grabbed Bebe straight out of the sky from where she was falling. Mia flew back to the ground and looked at Bebe sweetly.

"Awww..." I gasped softly. But I suddenly felt a burning, cutting, poisonous pain in my neck, collarbone, and back.

I had forgotten about my own corruption.
