Chapter 3: A Night In The Enchanted Forest

After the night you swapped V-cards, you didn't see Dean for two more months. They were on the road to Montana, then Nebraska, then West Virginia, then back to Wyoming, but never close enough to your home in Texas for him to steal away for a few hours. You texted each other constantly at first, but after a while, John started to get pissed off at Dean for being on his phone all the time. After that, you resorted to good morning texts, as well as messaging each other before and after hunts to ensure the other was safe.

But the best part was at night, before bed. Wherever you two were, Dean would step out of the room, and he'd call. Sometimes you'd get a half hour, sometimes you'd get two minutes, but you always made the most out of it, talking about your days, the trials and tribulations, the struggles with your siblings or parents, but mostly telling each other you loved each other multiple times. You never know when you're a hunter. Any day could be your last, so you made it a point to let each other know you were loved.

You longed to hold him close again, to feel the heat of his body against yours like that night after homecoming. One night, Dean was riding solo for a quick hunt. He was still too far from you, but he was alone. You stuffed blankets under the crack of your door, trying to soundproof as best as you could. The phone sex that followed was great, both of you reaching your climaxes together, but it just wasn't the same as the real deal. Hell, you'd chew off your right arm just for a chance to cuddle up with him and watch a movie under your parent's supervision again.

"Y/N! Come down for dinner!" Your dad called, snapping you out of your thoughts.

"Coming!" You called back, spinning out of the window seat in your bedroom and hopping to your feet.

"You've been moping in your room a lot lately, Y/N," Your mom said as you joined the family at the dinner table.

"It's because she misses her boyfriend so much!" Danny teased from across the table.

You picked up your fork and chucked it at him. "Shut up, Twerp!"

"Calm down, kids," Your dad warned. "Your mother worked hard on this meal, now kindly return your sister's utensil and let's enjoy a family meal."

With a roll of his eyes, your little brother picked up your fork and slid it back to you. Your family resumed dinner, which was absolutely delicious. Your mom was always known for her signature beef stroganoff, and it just so happened to be your favorite meal. After dinner, you said goodnight to your parents and Danny, and you headed up to your bedroom to watch some movies. You had been working your ass off at the movie rental store, and you had finally saved up enough money to buy your own television with a built in VHS player. Your boss was nice enough to let you bring home tapes and return them without charging you a dime.
