Jimin knew it was his fault for approaching the older. He knew, Yoongi would have never returned any of his feelings.

Jimin was just too kind. Too cute in a fluffy way. Jimin was everyone's baby brother.

He got friendzoned by one of his best friends back in middle school and never really recovered from the continuous rejection. And after another two years of trying so hard to get his high school crush to notice him in a romantic way, he now knew that he wasn't someone people fell in love with.

By now, he was convinced that if he ever got lucky enough to become someone's soulmate, he would be the best-friend-kinda-guy. Nobody wanted him in a romantic way. Of that he was certain. And he was okay with it... At least he wouldn't be alone.

So, back to his mint-haired hyung.

Jimin just wanted to make sure that Yoongi knew that there was at least one person out there who aknowlegdged his little acts of kindness. He just wanted to say how much he respected him. Maybe they could become friends. All the staring was fun and exciting, but he wanted an actual conversation to finally get to know him.

But it didn't turn out the way he wanted.

He wanted to walk up to his handsome hyung.
He wanted to tell him how he felt:
How much respect he held for his hyung's way of showing affection.
He wanted to tell him just that, and then leave.

But he was literally pushed back instead.

X: "Uuuh, Yoongi got himself a fanboy?"

Yoongi's eyes widened and the pure look of terror covered his facial features for a second. His friends were all laughing by now and Jimin didn't understand the meaning of it until one of them yelled his most disliked insult:

X: "Faggot!"

Jimin's heart sank. Yoongi's facial expression changed.

He pushed the small boy with such force, that his back hit the cold stone wall with a loud smack. Jimin exhaled audibly before a pale fist hit his jaw. The small boy stood frozen on the spot, his head facing the floor next to him. His small fingers traced the stinging layer of skin on his face before slowly looking back up at the older.

Yoongi's facial expression had completely changed. The terror was gone. What was left, was a face void of emotion.

Y: "Fool..."

The older shook his head and walked away, without even looking back.

And that was when Jimin thought he did him wrong.

Yoongi's friends threw tons of insults and a major laughing fit Jimin's way, but he didn't care. He massaged his hurting jaw and thought about what he did wrong to deserve this kind of treatment.

He didn't know Yoongi. Not at all. And maybe that was his mistake. Maybe the older never wanted anyone to notice his little niceties. Maybe he was embarrassed.

So Jimin swore to never approach Yoongi again. He was disappointed in himself.

He hated being a burden.

He hated making others uncomfortable.

So he decided to stay away.
