Yolanda's pov.
We have received a lead from Mr. Enock that they're very close. My nerves are getting the best of me, more as the time pounded away. They'll open this door any minute now.
"You got it?" Her mother asked.
"Yep" I replied getting the last line from their birthday song by heart.
The main door opened and I heard the two giggle.
"Where is everyone?" She asked from the kitchen.
"Three, Two, One!" Her mother mouthed. Taking me back to Ama's birthday when my aunt did it.
"Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to you, to you, to you. Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to you, to you, to you. Now you big enough to fight the monster under your bed and wash daddy's boots. Another special year for another cotton candy pack. Happy..."
"Happy, happy birthday Chantel" Her father sang along.
She stood there shocked. Apart from her birthday song bringing back all her preadolescence memories the decoration is breathtaking, I think. We exhibited her baby pictures showing her growth and filled the room with um... One, two, three okay fine a number of balloons.
I watched her gleam form the sight of her aunt, Angelica, my aunt and that's it. Seeing all these people might be heartwarming. My heart twitched a little when her mother explained or rather rubbed in why Bianca could not have a family barbecue
We sat at around the dinning table for a trip through her parent's memories of their not so heavenly daughter but my volcano.
"You had your bad days and weeks okay bad years but you the still my most special child" Mrs Brianna said.
Argh I think her name is cute and is low key in rhythm with Bianca. Brianna X Bianca, I know you get it and can conclude that I am not crazy.
"Um... Mother, I am your only daughter!" Bianca replied with a ridiculous laugh.
"Shh!" Her mother laughed and we all joined her.
"Despite the bad years I still think you are capable of grabbing life by the balls" Mr Enock said.
"Gosh your lingo Eno!" Mrs Bri said laughing a little embarrassed.
Bianca's pov.
Watching my parents share eye contact and stolen giggles as they spoke about my childhood was exciting to watch and kinda be part of but I still can't forget that mom told me they would never get back together.
"Excuse me" I said leaving everyone behind and like expected Yolanda followed.
"Ey" She held my hand.
"Hi" I replied with a weak smile.
"You okay?" She asked.
I just nodded turning to look at her.
"We have so much to talk about" I mumbled as my smile grew wilder.
"We basically have this time to ourselves before your mom insists we cut the cake" Yolanda replied with a smirk.
"And before Angelica throw herself in here" I added to her statement.
"See, more reasons you should start talking" She still had a smirk on her face.
"First, I want to know how you kept this a secret from me" I folded my arms above my chest.
"Let me say you are not so nosy, It was not a secret, maybe if you just asked I would have said something" She said stepping closer.
