He what?
"I'm falling in love with you." He spoke as if he could read your mind.
Dad, ma, the farm, three things you had loved that got killed or destroyed. Loving things wasn't cut out for you, it always ended in tears. Everyone you loved always ended up dying and the last thing you wanted was for Arthur to get killed and with your lifestyle it's very possible every time he gets on that horse and leaves camp, he may come back cold and limp.
"I- Er-" you couldn't speak, not that you knew what to say. Your body went into autopilot, causing you to simply just turn around and walk away. Upon your exit, you bumped into Sean
"Ahh you alright there miss y/l/n?" He asked in his thick Irish accent, but he looked in your eyes and the truth was revealed "come with me." He added much quieter. He led you to his horse and together, you galloped out of camp. You felt guilty for leaving Arthur, but your body didn't know what to do - so it removed you from the situation.
"So, you going to tell me what happened then eh?" He questioned you while you rode over the Sandy pathways of Rhodes.
"I don't think I can, no." You replied, you wished you could though. You desperately needed advice
"Ahh well that's alright then miss y/n, do you fancy just going for a ride the-"
"Arthur said he's falling in love with me, but I have attachment issues and am scared, so I think I'm just going to run away forever," you spat out without any control. You slapped your hand over your mouth, but truth be told it felt like a ton weight had been taken off your shoulders by telling him.
"Right, well, I thought maybe Pierson's stew had made you feel sick, but this works too." He answered you trying to make light of the situation "what's scaring you like miss y/n?"
"Everyone I've ever loved has died and I don't want Arthur to die." You answered him, spilling out the truth like water down a drain
"Do you not love me miss y/n?" He asked, pretending to be offended
You sarcastically replied "Oh, ha bloody ha, very funny." While tightening your grip around him; he was picking up speed, zooming passed the trees and bushy, overgrown lands.
"I honestly think I'm cursed Sean." You sighed
"Don't flatter yourself y/n, nobody's cursed you. You've gone through a lot, but you still deserve to be loved at the end of the day," he answered you, you knew he was right
"but it's just scary," you reminded him
"so is the journey to a shoot out, so is when you hear footsteps from upstairs when you're robbing a homestead at night. The list goes on miss y/l/n, but you've got to be able to see when a good thing is happening and some times you've just got to bite the bullet miss y/l/n." He instructed
"Thank you Sean,"
"Not a bother y/n." He replied while riding back into camp.

You began walking back to your tent, avoiding everyone on your journey. You burst into your tent. It was empty, thank god, but sitting on your dresser there was a little white tub and a small piece of parchment with inky writing on it

For your hand. Apply generously.
About the other thing, I'm sorry for putting that on you.
Take your time. I will wait for you.

That man. He remembered your cream! You dipped your throbbing fingers in the cool cream and spread a thick layer over your cracking hands. The cool and moisturising sensations sent shivers down your back - it was instant relief. "It must have been expensive" you thought to yourself as you twisted the lid closed.

"Y/n?" You heard a soft voice call from outside, you opened your tent door and saw Sean standing there awkwardly
"Hi Sean?"
"I brought you some dinner, I didn't think you'd want to be seeing everyone today." He explained, holding out a bowl of soup
"Thank you Sean." You smiled at him while gripping the wooden bowl and closing the tent door.
You prodded your thick bubbling soup with your spoon, but had no appetite. It was nice of Sean to bring you some food, but you'd rather just sit there and stare at it. You persuaded yourself to have one spoonful and when the tomatoey base caressed you taste buds, you thought it couldn't hurt to have another. The bowl was half empty by the time you decided you should sleep. You pulled your blankets over your face and drifted off to a land that was entirely yours. It just so happened Arthur was there too....
