Chapter 11

HEATHER'S POV

I woke up to bright lights above my head. That's when everything came back to me. I'm in the hospital.

I turned to my right and looked in the mirror above the sink. My head was wrapped in bandages. I felt something warm in my hand so I looked to my left. There was Jack. He was fast asleep holding my hand.

Just then the nurse walked in.

"Oh good you're awake."

"Yeah, um, what happened?" I asked pointing to my bandaged head.

"You got a pretty nasty concussion when you hit the floor. We're going to keep you one more night. You know just in case you get anymore head trauma. Oh look." She said pointing towards Jack. "He finally fell asleep."

"Finally?" I asked.

"Oh yeah he wasn't going to rest until you woke up. He must've fallen asleep waiting. You've got a good boyfriend there."

I looked over at him smiling, rubbing my thumb over his hand.

"Yeah I do."

The nurse checked the IV in my arm and left Jack and I alone. Just a few minutes later he started to stir. He blinked a couple times trying to wake up.

"Hey." I said.

"Hi, how are you feeling?"

"Well, my head hurts a little. Other than that I'm fine."

"Good."

He got up from his chair and popped his back. I scooted over in my bed letting him lay down next to me. He pulled me close to him and I snuggled into his side.

"I love you." He whispered kissing the top of my head.

"I love you too."

I closed my eyes for a second.

*FLASH*

I opened my eyes to see Kelly holding a vase of flowers and Ashley smiling down at her phone.

"Seriously Ashley?" Kelly asked.

"Sorry I saw a super cute opportunity and I took it."

She showed Kelly the picture.

"Ok I understand now." Kelly said making us all laugh.

Kelly sat the vase on the counter and she and Ashley gave me a hug. Jack pulled me back into his arms holding me close.

"Oh so you will be very pleased to know, drum roll please." Kelly said pointing to Ashley who mocked drumming on the counter. "Lacey got fired!" They pumped their arms in the cheering.

"Really?" I asked.

"Oh yeah. Laura, the director, saw the whole thing and she fired her after the ambulance came and got you."

"She won't bother you anymore." Ashley said.

"Well we'll let you rest. Feel better. See you soon." They said walking out the door.

I turned towards Jack and his eyes were closed. I kissed him softly on the lips making the corners of his mouth turn up into a smile. His eyes slowly opened.

He chuckled. "Gosh I love you."

I giggled. "I love you too."

He moved a strand of hair that was poking out from my bandages out of my face and tucked it behind my ear.

"I'm so glad you're ok. I was scared when Kelly called telling me you were in the hospital. I love you so so much."

"I love you too. Very much."

I wrapped my arms around his waist. He planted a soft kiss on my lips. I laid my head on his chest closing my eyes and falling asleep.
