HEATHER'S POV

Jack led me outside and he hailed a cab.

"Where are we going?" I asked once we got in the cab.

"It's a surprise." He said grinning.

He whispered something in the cab driver's ear and we started driving. Eventually we pulled up in front of a building. He paid the driver and we got out.

"Where are we?" I asked. There wasn't anything in the building we pulled up in front of and no one was on the sidewalk.

"Does anything look familiar?"

"Well," I looked around a bit. "There's the building where I auditioned and rehearsals were held, up ahead."

I looked around a bit more before it finally clicked. I looked back at Jack who was smiling again.

"Now do you know where we are?"

"This is where we met 8 months ago!"

"Yeah!" He said. "I remember it like it was last week."

-FLASHBACK-

JACK'S POV

It's a cool Friday in August and I'm walking down the street on my way home. It's the same crowd of people I see everyday. People going to and from work, the tourists, the police officers, and the rude people that just bump into you and keep walking.

Suddenly I spot a cab pull up. Cabs don't usually pull up in front of empty buildings. I see the door fly open and the most beautiful girl steps out. She has a ton of bags and folders. She starts walking towards me and then suddenly she's on the ground in front of me picking up her sheet music. Oh my God! I just ran into her.

"Oh my God! I am so sorry!" I say stretching my hand out to help her up. She looks up at me and our eyes meet.

She takes my hand in her's and stands up.

"No no let me apologize, I'm really clumsy."

I introduced myself and she did the same. She said her name was Heather. She told me that she was going to an audition down the street so I offered to help her carry her bags. We talked and walked for awhile and then we arrived where she was auditioning. Then I asked her on a date. Yeah I know I just met her but there's something special about her. Like no one I've ever met before.

-PRESENT-

HEATHER' POV

I sill can't believe he remembered where we first met. It makes me really happy to know that he cares. I wrapped my arms around his waist hugging him tight.

"I love you."

"I love you too Heather." He pulled away and smiled at me.

"What?" I asked cracking a smile too.

"Ok so I can't really do this traditionally with a broken leg but I can still do this. When we locked eyes the day we first met I knew there was something special about you. That's why I asked you out on a date. And I'm so glad I did, I've never been in love with someone like I am with you. You make me the happiest I have been in a long time. So," He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small box. "Heather Renée Adams. Will you marry me?"

I felt the tears well up in my eyes as I smiled.

"Yes."

And with that simple word he slipped the ring on my finger and pulled me in for a kiss. And there we stood in the middle of the sidewalk in New York City, both of us madly in love.
