Rue
After the battle, Jason and I decided to go back to the hut for some rest. Today has actually been a long day and it clearly isn't over. This day has also stunted me emotionally. I am unsure how to feel, or what to even think about what just happened.
Hunter is evil, and Jason's dad is evil. My biological dad is the first vampire, my brother is a vampire, and I am half vampire. Jason's dad is trying to kill me because of my family and what I am, and now Hunter is trying to kill us for reasons I don't know. He may even try to destroy the entire vampire community, and then the world.
I watched as Jason paced back and forth in the hut, seeming to be in deep thought about the events from earlier. By the multiple changes of expressions on his face, I'd say that he is still processing what's going on. From the look of shock, to disappointment, then pure sadness and confusion... he had it all.
"You saw what I did to Hunter? The way I ripped his heart out and fucking popped it?!" He didn't sound happy that he did that, but he didn't sound upset either.
"You didn't feel a thing doing that to him?" I questioned.
It has only recently came to me that the Hunter that Jason was fighting was the Hunter that Jason grew up with for the last 300 years. The Hunter that was by Jason's side through everything; the Hunter that was noted as Jason's "best friend". It has only recently came to me that Jason did not hesitate at all when I came to fighting Hunter.
"No." Jason shook his head. "I am fully aware of what Hunter is. After what he had done to Samuel; the way he burned him alive— I knew that the Hunter I knew was no longer here. Also, I'm not sure who that guy was back there. Mentally, it wasn't me."
"Yeah I know." I cut him off. "When you spoke, at one point I swear I heard a cross between your voice, and Samuels voice; that was honestly pretty strange."
Jason sat down and let out a big sigh. He then went in his pocket and pulled out Samuels glass eye. "How am I going to explain myself when your father returns?"
"Just by simply telling the truth." I responded. "If you think about it this way, you finally consumed not 1, but 3 packs of human blood— something my dad and Jeff wanted you to do so desperately, and now we can use that to our advantage when it comes down to fighting your father."
He looked down and nodded his head slightly.
"How come you aren't freaking out?" He asked.
"Freaking out about what?"
"Did you forget where your father, Jeff, and Samuels children went."
I shrugged my shoulders.
"They went looking for your mother— after you, ya' know."
I sighed and leaned back in the chair I was sitting in. I almost forgot that my mom went 'missing' and there were people out there looking for her and it's due to my actions.
"How come you're not panicking about that?" Jason sat down next to me and placed a comforting hand on my thigh.
I moved over a bit causing his hand to fall from my thigh. I could tell he was a bit offended, but he didn't attempt to touch me again.
I shrugged my shoulders again and looked away.
"Is there any way we could contact them to see if there was any progress? I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself if the 8 deaths I already have on my back, turns into 9. Especially if my mom is apart of that 9."
Jason got up and sat down on the floor. "Samuel did teach me this thing, but I don't know if it will work."
He looked up at me and held a hand up to me. "Would you like to sit with me?"
