Rue
"He said she was some blonde girl wearing a white sun dress with slip-on vans. Do you see that anywhere?" I asked Jason as I secretly scanned the restaurant.
As of now we were at some highly expensive restaurant in the suburbs- that's literally out of our neighborhood. I don't know how Darren expects me to pay for this, but I know how he's going to pay for this.
"I haven't seen her yet, but have you seen this menu?" He said exasperated. "25$ for some damn chicken fingers? This is probably one of the good things about being a vampire. I have all the animal blood in the world, and it's free."
"Blah blah, brag all you want." I continued looking for Cara.
"She's right there." I looked to where Jason was pointing.
She was literally right next to us and I didn't see her. The boy she was with was a redhead, he looked small from the way he was sitting, but he was dressed very neatly, like he can afford this. Well, that's good for her he's clearly going to be the one paying for it.
"How much did you say the chicken fingers were again?" I asked, taking my attention off of them for a quick second.
"25$."
"TWENTY FIVE—." Jason placed a hand over my mouth because I got so loud to the point where people were staring at us.
"You need to learn some table manners."
"Andyouneedtogetyournastyasshandsoff mymouth." I grabbed his hand and slammed it on the table.
Wait. If he's a vampire that means he can heal himself right?
I looked around to see if anyone was looking and grabbed a fork off the table.
"Can I see something real quick?" I asked.
Before he even got a word out, I stabbed the fork into his hand and watched him grunt in pain before pulling it out. I watched as his hands slowly healed and when I looked up at him to see his face, he literally had crazy eyes.
"Now why the hell would you do that!" He whisper-shouted.
I shrugged. It was genuinely out of curiosity. It was completely a random thought.
"Be grateful it wasn't a stake to the heart. Anyway, back to the job." I was referring to Darren's sister.
"Don't do that again. I feel that shit, and it hurts." He muttered.
They both were laughing and talking as they waited for a waitress to come and take their order.
"That's really cute honestly." I smiled to myself admiring the kiddy love.
I remember my first love. He didn't know I existed though. It was back in middle school, his name was Harold. He wasn't the cutest boy in school, nor was he the popular boy. He was quiet, and smart, and stayed to himself.
He never made eye contact with me nor did we ever communicate. I know if I met him with the personality I have now, I would've definitely gone for him.
Everything about him was so interesting. The way his wrist moved as he was writing, the expressions he had on his face when he was thinking, he was so different from the average boy. I was too shy to even talk to him. I went the rest of my middle school year suffering in silence because I was the biggest pussy ever.
"It'll end soon. All first loves end." Jason simply shrugged.
This bitch.
"You're acting like they can't enjoy the moment. Don't be a Hunter and ruin the mood."
