When we got back to our hotel, Calum gave me an awkward goodbye and I started packing to stay with my family. I didn't really have much to pack because most things were still in my suitcase from when we arrived. The last thing I remembered before I fell asleep was Lizzy sleep talking about how Cameron had been acting strange. She wasn't making much sense, but I caught a couple of words here and there.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
My alarm went off at 7:30 am. Orla's graduation wasn't until 10 o'clock, but I didn't was to miss anything. I put on a classy black and white skater dress with some Doc Martens and a leather jacket. I weaved my hair into a milkmaid braid and picked up my handbag, ready to leave.
Hailing a cab thankfully was easier than usual. I told my driver the necessary details and started checking my notifications.
Scott, 08:33:
Hey, I miss you.Scott, 08:36:
When are you coming here? I can't wait to see you again! XxI typed a response.
Just a few more months until you can see my beautiful face again. And I miss you too. Love you! Xx
Scott was my ex boyfriend from high school. We dated for a few months but decided to break up for a few reasons. One of them was because I moved, another was because we lost feelings for each other, but it wasn't just that. To be honest, I did still miss him. After the mutual decision to split, we decided to remain friends and keep in touch. That would have gone better if we weren't so busy with our jobs.
The driver snapped me out of my nostalgic state by asking for his money. I paid him the fare and walked up the steps to the house. When Orla opened the door, she was dressed in her graduation gown with a white lace dress underneath and wedges.
"Who are you dressed up for?" I teased.
"My graduation." She replied sassily. Orla and I were driving together while my mum and dad were going separately. Since Orla was complaining about her shoes not being 'driving-friendly', I was forced to drive whilst she gave the directions.
We arrived at the school and parted our ways, Orla towards the student's area and I met up with our parents. The ceremony started with head teacher saying a few inspiring words about how this chapter of life is ending but to reach the next one, all you have to do is turn the page.
I was surprised to see that my sister was the valedictorian. I knew she was smart, but not that smart. The headmaster called her name and the room erupted into cheers, one slightly louder than the rest.
"THAT'S MY GIRL! WELL DONE, BABE!"
My dad's head and mine snapped towards the loud voice. Our eyes met a tall muscular boy with brown hair. My sister avoided everyone's gaze from the stage as she started her speech.
"Good afternoon, Members of the Board of Trustees, President Davis, Distinguished Guests, Members of the Administration, Faculty and Staff, and Fellow Graduates. I am truly honoured to be here before you presenting the commencement speech for the class of 2015. To begin, I would like to congratulate my fellow classmates on achieving this major milestone..."
I zoned out for the rest of it, locking my gaze on Orla's 'babe'. I wonder if he knows who I am.
My thoughts were cut short as a round of applause filled the hall. I immediately copied the rest of the audience to cover up the fact that I wasn't paying attention. Many more graduating students stepped onto the stage as their names were read out by the principal.
My parents managed to use that time wisely, calming down the violent thoughts about their youngest daughter's male friend. I chose to find out about him instead of my dad to prevent him saying something he didn't mean.
After the ceremony had come to a close, I greeted Orla with a 'congratulations' and a hug, warning her about our parents. She admitted that she wanted to introduce her boyfriend to me first because I was the most normal in the family.
Orla led me to the area where the boy was stood while talking to his friends. She tapped on his shoulder and he turned to face her, quickly giving her a congratulatory kiss. I focused my eyes in a different direction to give them some privacy.
"Tyler, this is my sister, Brooke and Brooke, this is my boyfriend, Tyler." Orla infomed. I stepped forward to shake his hand, he shook it and looked at me with a parted mouth.
Orla looked uncomfortable. "Yeah, yeah. I know she's pretty, but I would appreciate it if you didn't stare at her."
Tyler immediately shook his head, correcting her misconception. "No, it's not that." He rushed, "You just didn't mention that your sister was a celebrity."
I rolled my eyes, "Of course she didn't."
Tyler laughed before ramling, "Oh my gosh! I listen to you all the time! You're so funny and cool! I love you so much!"
All I could really do was laugh and wait for someone to change the subject. So that's what I did.
Orla spoke up, "I wonder how dad's going to react to meeting two boyfriends in two days."
I rolled my eyes, "Calum isn't my boyfriend."
Orla hummed in response and strutted over to our mum and dad, waiting for us to follow her. I caught my dad's gaze and gave him a thumbs up, signalling that Tyler seemed alright.
I guessed that my dad was a little off guard from finding out that both of his daughters had gotten close to boys without him knowing.
My phone started ringing and I looked at the caller ID, it read Scott. I excused myself from the group and walked into the hallway.
My finger slid across the screen, answering the call. "Hello, Scott."
"Why don't you call me Scottie anymore? You know I don't like it when you use my name." Scott spoke through the phone.
"That's why I do it, Scott." I laughed back. "You managed to go months without talking to me and suddenly your obsessed with me, what's up with that?"
"Well, a little birdy told me that you were on tour with some hot pieces of ass and I need you to give me the hookup." He bluntly stated. There's another thing I forgot to mention, we broke up because Scott realised he was gay.
"Of course. And here's me thinking that you actually wanted to talk to me." I teased.
"Why would I want to do that?" He joked. "Anyway, about these fine boys..."
"I don't think that any of the boys that are on this tour are gay." I laughed, "Sorry to end your fantasy, Scott."
"Well... We'll see about that when you come here in a few months. If feels like we haven't spoken in forever." Scott sighed.
"I know, but who knows, maybe it's a blessing in disguise." I suggested. "And speaking of blessings, I met this boy named Calum."
"Is he hot?"
"Of course." I laughed.
"Is he nice?"
"Does a bear shit in the woods?"
"Is he yours?"
"I'm gonna make him mine." I smiled, already feeling the symptoms of a crush starting to kick in.
