CHAPTER 18: I Love You

THIRD PERSON'S POV
"But I thought you're afraid? Asuna, look." You pulled yourself up, sitting beside her. She also did the same.

You continued. "I'm totally fine. I'm not rushing things... us. I just acted impulsively and being insensitive earlier. Listen, I don't want to do something that will make you uncomfortable. I respect you and I don't ever want you to feel that making love to me right now is the only way to show your love for me. Love doesn't work like that. I love you with all my heart. Being with you is enough for me. We can only cuddle tonight, alright?"

She teared up, not expecting to hear such comforting words. It made her remember that your gentleness is one of the reason she fell in love with you.

'I really love this baka. I'm so happy I fell in love with her.' She thought.

You panicked when you see her teared up. "H-hey, I'm sorry! Please, don't cry. Asuna, hey..."

Silence.

Then she burst out laughing.

"A-Asuna?"

"I'm fine. I-I'm just... Ah.." She looked away. "moved..."

"You are?"

"Yes... But what about your..." She went silent again.

"Oh. About that. I've been taking a medication so I'll be fine." You winked.

You leaned down, meeting your lips with hers. You brushed her lips gently, savoring its soft feeling against yours.

"Nope. I'm only teasing you." You hugged her tightly.

You laughed. 'She getting riled up already.'

"You think its funny? Do you know how much I suffer? How every single day is tormenting without you by my side? Do yo-"

You cut her off by placing your finger on her lips. "I'm sorry, Asuna. Calm down, I won't bring up a question like that again." You assured her, while rubbing her back.

She sighed. "Good."

You kissed her forehead and said good night to her.

The next morning...

Asuna woke up feeling cold. Though with blankets on she is missing someone's warmth. She moved her hand around the bed looking for you but she found nothing. She immediately sat up and called out for you. "Love, are you in the bathroom?"

No answer.

"Love?" She went to the bathroom but it was empty. She went back the bed and noticed a piece of paper on the bedside table. She picked it and read...

'I'm truly sorry, Asuna. I promise I'll return to you. Please, don't hate me.'
