Staring at the groggy wall ahead, Miyako concentrated on the sounds of the busy city night that flowed into her ears. Head rested on the wall behind her, she sighed out lightly and smiled.
"Tonight's the night." She spoke softly. The sudden honk of a car made Miyako shift her eyes to the left, almost as if she was looking directly at the noise. She giggled, a small smirk forming on her delicate face.
Sighing out louder than normal, Miyako stood up and turned around: peering out of the broken mess of a window.
She had found an abandoned apartment she happily called home; as if she needed anything else. Living like this was all too easy, and Miyako couldn't get enough of the satisfaction. Her face lit up from the beams of an on going truck, and her smile grew.
"Here they come." She squeaked, unable to contain the joy rising in her voice. She knew all too well that she was being followed. It's not the first time.
However, ever since that new ghoul (Kaneki Ken was it?), came into the playing field- Miyako decided to lay low and let the so called 'rising star' have his moment.
It was bound to come crashing down anyway.Watching from the window like a tiger watches its prey, Miyako stared at the two figures moving their way closer and closer to the building. She smiled again, and let out a breath of sound.
"I wonder who they sent this time." She whispered. She stared at the hooded figures, and noticed that both had silver suitcases- their quinques.
"And whose kagune's do they have?" Miyako asked herself out loud. She was interested in seeing if one of them had somebody she knew, however she wasn't in the mood to start a fight.
They swiftly entered the building, and Miyako waited in silence: holding her breath. The anticipation inside her grew with every step growing louder.
"Juuzou, you check in there, I'll take this room." A hoarse voice spoke from behind the closed door. Miyako felt her ears prick as she heard the door knob being turned.
Jumping up, she grasped onto a low horizontal beam, and swung herself onto it. She quickly ran along the beam until she reached the corner of the room, where a small hole just big enough for her to fit was punched through the ceiling.
Miyako hoisted herself up into the hole, and popped her head out- waiting to see her intruder. No sooner than later the door flew open, and a slim character stepped inside.
He stopped at the doorway, and reached up to his face, slowly pushing his hood back. Miyako tired to get a look at the boys face, but it was too dark to see his features.
He took a few steps more into the room, before he was standing in the middle of it. He looked around himself, and turned in Miyako's direction. As soon as he did, the blinding lights of a car shone over his face.
Miyako felt her body tense as she stared at the boy. He had a pale narrow face, in which was overpowered by a pair of big eyes. Under his right were two stitches marked both as little red X's. Two more X's were stitched on his bottom lip.
He had a tousle of hair, whiter than snow, that fell just short of his cheek bones, framing his face almost perfectly. His fringe was pinned back by five red pins, marking the roman numerals for 13.More red X's marked down his neck in a single line, suddenly being hidden by his clothing.
An eerie presence lingered in his features, but none the less beautiful.
Even if only seen for seconds, his face was now forever etched into the back of her eyelids.A delicious aroma filled Miyako's nose as she took in the boy's scent. She quickly dug into the wooden ceiling, controlling herself from bursting at the seams.
Miyako watched as the boy danced lightly around the room, scanning every inch it held. She was left at an awe at how he moved, almost as if he was walking on air.
Suddenly he looked up, and everything turned to slow motion. Just barely rolling away from the hole, Miyako felt her heart pounding rapidly. No way in hell did she want to be seen.
What seemed like forever went by, Miyako relaxed and breathed out. A loud crack of wood being broken made her catch her heart in her throat. Moving her eyes slowly to the left, her head followed even slower.
Just centimetres away from her face was a large, extremely sharp, blade. Eyes wide she clenched her jaw in shock.
She watched as the blade was then ripped out of the ceiling, followed by a sad groan.
"Must have been a rat." She heard the boy dully mutter. Miyako stared out into nothing as she tried to regain herself.
"Juuzou, let's go." The hoarse voice from before bellowed. Another childlike groan filled the air, and light footsteps faded into nothing.
Sighing in relief, Miyako carefully made her way out back into the room. Dropping down, she headed towards the window.
She saw the two figures walk back out onto the road, and she pursed her lips.
"Juuzou huh?" She mumbled. As if he had heard, Juuzou turned around and looked back up at the window. Miyako quickly ducked, resting her head against the wall.
Juuzou lifted his hood back up and smirked."A very big rat indeed." He muttered amusedly, before turning back around and walking away.
