Why here? Why now? Was all that ran through Miyako's head as she kept her back to Juuzou.
"Sumisu?" He repeated a little more lightly this time. Juuzou took a cautious step forward, and Miyako shot round to face him. He flinched back, and laughed slightly; rubbing the back of his head.
"I was beginning to wonder if I had the right person." He smiled. However his expression suddenly dropped to concern. "What are you doing out here alone?"
Alone.
Miyako pursed her lips, unable to speak. Silence fell between them, and Juuzou shuffled his weight."I could say the same to you." Miyako spoke, her voice lingering. Juuzou looked down at the ground and breathed out. He forced a smile.
"I actually just finished work," he looked back up at Miyako with bright eyes. "I don't live too far from here."
Miyako cocked an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"You never answered my question." Juuzou quickly replied. Miyako reverted her eyes, and shoved her hands in her jacket pocket. It's because she couldn't answer the question truthfully."I prefer the night." Miyako shrugged her shoulders. It was true, after all. Juuzou took a step towards her.
"It's dangerous." He muttered, his voice oozing like honey. Miyako could feel her palms getting clammy.
"I'll take my chances."
"But what if you ran into a ghoul?" Juuzou dropped his voice as he took another step closer. Miyako's heart began to pick up speed."I haven't yet."
"Or worse," Juuzou's face was just inches away from Miyako's; his breath tickling her cheeks. "A human."Miyako held her own breath in anticipation as she felt Juuzou's touch around her wrist.
What exactly was he playing at?"You really think humans are worse?" Miyako breathed out. A sly smirk spread across the boys face, and he let his eyes trail to Miyako's lips.
"I think," he whispered: almost inaudible. Juuzou bit his lip, and moved in closer. "It all comes down to personal preference."
Miyako could feel herself moving in, trapped in Juuzou's web. She hadn't planned to be kissing anybody tonight, and neither did Juuzou.
He pulled away, his bubbly attitude returning. He laughed, still holding onto Miyako's wrist.
"Come on, I bet you're hungry!" Miyako couldn't help the disappointment that spread through her body, as she allowed herself to be pulled along by Juuzou. She didn't exactly know what had just happened, but it seemed as if it never happened to Juuzou.
"Where are we going?" She piped up, looking back behind her; as if she could see Kaneki slumped against the wall.
She was going to find him food; she had to."Back to mine! Just don't laugh when you get there, okay?" Miyako scrunched up her face, and Juuzu began to quicken his step. His grip on Miyako tightened.
"Why would I do that?" She spoke, more to herself. She was beginning to become more confused by just exactly who Juuzou was; needless to say she enjoyed every minute of it.
However, as they neared their destination, Miyako realised something she dreaded. Human food.
She would have to out in yet another show of satisfaction in order to convince Juuzou she was human. But what if he was a terrible cook? What if he made something as awful as everything else taste to Miyako, and she sat there complimenting his 'skills'.
For some reason, Miyako was beginning to panic. It was a first.Juuzou stopped abruptly, causing Miyako to bump into his shoulder. He looked back at her and giggled.
It reminded Miyako of fond memories of high shrills and uncontrollable laughter.
