Miyako stared down at the lifeless body in front of her, taking in every last bit of detail from the slightly lighter strands of hair to the mixed colour of dark liquid droplets falling to the floor from their neck.

"Do you ever think about the reason why bad people exist?" She spoke up, not entirely asking for an answer. Kaneki bent down next to the body, running his finger across their shoulder.

"What makes you say that?" He dug his nails into their flesh shortly after, feeling the strange yet exhilarating sense of power rush through him. Miyako watched quietly, being all too used to the sounds that chilled the air.

"I just don't understand why what they think they do is okay." She muttered, bringing her arms up to hug herself. Kaneki stopped tearing apart the body and looked up at Miyako.

"I guess not every one of them intentionally does it, you know?" He looked back down and ripped a chunk of flesh out. "We're all just souls in a body. Sometimes you stumble upon an unfortunate who is trapped inside a head full of disaster, and they act out unwillingly."

"All because their body is dirty?" Kaneki bit into the off tasting flesh and shuddered before forcing it down his throat, nodding.

"It's rare, usually there soul has been tampered with from the beginning- or," He looked down at the floor, lowering his voice. "They've been pushed to the brink. Either way, the choice is yours, even if you don't think you have one."

Miyako clenched her jaw before tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, exhaling out and watching the whiteness fog her breath.

"Do you believe that?" Kaneki froze up slightly, allowing the silence to flow around then like a never ending sea of doubt.

"I believe nobody is free from disaster." Miyako furrowed her eyebrows, deciding to stay quiet despite picking up on the slight contradiction in Kaneki's words. They way he said it, however, put her on edge. Miyako knew there was a deeper meaning to his thoughts, yet she was finding it difficult to pick away at the discussion. Eventually she bent down, ripping away her own source of food and eating it slowly.

Silence was a constant thing between the two, however neither minded it. Miyako would always find a lack of words to say whilst Kaneki never wanted discuss a whole lot. He was too afraid of revealing a little more than he should about the incidents suffocating his life. His life, if you wanted to call it that.

The air around them slowly became thick, as the smell of a heavy liquid filled their lungs; the rain started. Already placing her hood over her head, Miyako licked her lower lip and stood up.

"The smell of the rain is going to alter our senses. We can't stay out here for much longer." Miyako spoke up, looking out into the street. Kaneki clenched his jaw before lifting himself up onto his feet.

"We should find somewhere close to stay the night then." He muttered, beginning to walk further into the alley. Miyako watched the boy intently as she herself followed behind.

And then it hit her. A faint overflow of sweetness daring to choke the back of her throat, and seep it's way through her veins. Kaneki stopped, turning to face Miyako. She knew he smelt it too.

"It seems," He began, his eyes looking past Miyako. "A familiar scent has traced it's way back."

Miyako bit down onto her lip harshly, the mixture of fresh rain and a sickening sweetness getting stronger. She opened her mouth to speak, before realising her voice refused to make a sound. Kaneki's eyes fell back onto her then, his head tilting the the side slightly.

"To you, Miyako."

Swivelling around Miyako took a step back into the dark, brushing arms with Kaneki. Neither of them dared to move as they stared back at the figure now standing a few metres away. Miyako knew all too well it was Juuzou, and Juuzou himself could feel a new level of excitement rush through his veins.

"The Shadow Eagle and the One Eyed Ghoul together, at last!" He exclaimed dramatically, his smile blooming and his steps an airy dance.

"This is a real treat, don't you think?" Juuzou continued, taking the slightest step closer, tilting his head. He pouted his lips as a light hum escaped them. He spoke again.

"I'll have you know, the last time I bumped into the Shadow Eagle I did have every intention of letting you go.." He looked up slightly, before his smile shaped into a smirk and he laughed; the sweet sensation crawling into Miyako's skin made her shiver slightly. "Well, almost every intention."

The silence around the three became intoxicating as Kaneki shifted his eyes over to glance at Miyako briefly. He fought back every breath that dared to sound into voice; waiting for somewhat of an explanation of the situation. Juuzou gave him just that.

"I only wanted to ask questions the first time we encountered, but it seemed I stumbled upon the work of the beast itself." Juuzou shifted his eyes over to Miyako. "I know it wasn't you who did it, which is why I wasn't going to kill you."

Miyako shifted back the smallest amount, hoping the shadows were covering her face completely. Her palms were beginning to get clammy and she tried to swallow over the dryness forming in her throat. It was useless.

"I still need answers from you," Juuzou continued once again, tilting his head to the side. "It seems the CCG says you're eating humans as well as... ghouls."

Miyako's eyes widened in disbelief, her kakugan appearing. Ghouls? Ghouls? What made those demons ever assume she, of all ghouls, was eating her own kind.

"What.." She whispered unintentionally. Juuzou cocked an eyebrow, a smile forming.

"No? Well, how unfortunate to have that sitting on your head." He let out a small giggle, spinning around.

"You're also rated as an S class ghoul. Seems to me you've been getting yourself into all kinds of..." He hummed out, looking up. "Fun."
He stepped forward.
"I still have t had the priveledge of seeing your kagune, I've heard it's quite be-" Juuzou was suddenly cut off as Kaneki lashed out towards him. Before Miyako could say anything, Juuzou had danced a small knife between his fingers, before it darting into Kaneki's side.

Kaneki hissed out, his kakugan glowing red. A small smirk crept onto his own face; covered by his menacing mask. The boy straightened himself, rolling back a shoulder. Juuzou let out a small sound of excitement and touched the side of his face. Kaneki spoke.

"Time to entertain me, human."
