The streets were already buzzing with life as Miyako looked out the jagged window once more. A swarm of mixed scents lingered in the air, and she took in a deep breath.

"Juuzou." She breathed, remembering the boy from last night. His face never left her mind, and that made her intrigued.
Gripping onto the window sill, Miyako jumped over the edge, and landed swiftly on the floor below her. A few people stopped walking out of surprise of a girl suddenly appearing, but Miyako only smiled at the ground.

Looking up, she stared out in front of her.
"Juuzou," She slowly stood up, and breathed in deeply again. "You smell too good to waste."

Although she was against killing and feeding from innocent human beings, she knew all too well that those from the CCG were out for one thing; extermination of all ghouls.

She thought it was petty of the humans to kill all without even thinking how some ghouls live. Sure, the binge eaters and gourmets give the ghouls a bad reputation- not to mention the typical ghouls- but some of them preferred to live a life like a normal human.

Even though they understood the fact they could never be human, some ghouls liked to have a good relationship with them; after all, they both share the same world.

Then there were ghouls like Miyako. Kind of like the CCG; but for ghouls. Call it the Commission of Counter Human, if you will. They deal with scrounging out the worst of the human race, and putting an end to their lives.

Miyako believed her intentions to be good, however due to how these criminals lived, they always left a sour taste in her mouth. It wasn't an ideal way of an appetising meal: but it was something.

Breathing in again, Miyako closed her eyes. Her smile grew even wider at how amazing everybody smelt today. If only she could...

Not looking where she was going, Miyako smacked into something. Taking a short step back, she quickly opened her eyes only to see it was a human. She quickly bowed.

"I'm so-" She began to apologise, but a familiar scent hit her like a wave. She sniffed lightly.

"No, I wasn't looking where I was going." A smooth, yet bubbly voice spoke. Miyako tensed slightly at the sound, and clenched her jaw. She quickly straightened herself up and locked contact with a pair of amaranth red eyes.

Miyako suddenly felt herself at a loss of words as she continued to stare into Juuzou's eyes. They were slightly off a broad red, but still had her at a loss of words. He definitely had an androgynous look towards him.

Juuzou smiled lightly at Miyako, and shot out his hand.
"What's your name?"

Miyako's eyes shifted towards the boy's hand, and noticed it too was covered in little red X's. Miyako started to wonder whether he inflicted these marks himself. She gently took his hand and shook it.

"Sumisu," She spoke. "Sumisu Miyako."

"Well, Sumisu Miyako, it was a pleasure bumping into you." Juuzou spoke brightly. "I am Suzuya Juuzou."

He squeezed Miyako's hand before letting go. Miyako let her own hand drop to her side, as she cracked a smile.

"And the same to you, Suzuya Juuzou."
Juuzou smiled, closing his big eyes shut.

"Call me Juuzou." Miyako couldn't help but smile back at the boy in front of her. She quickly scanned his outfit, and couldn't help but frown slightly in confusion.

He was wearing a white button shirt, that was unbuttoned at the top, revealing the long line of red X's marking his neck and chest. It was rolled up at the sleeves, just above his elbows.
His black pants were cut off under his knee, and were held up by colourful polka dot suspenders. To finish off his... Unique style, Juuzou was wearing red slippers, and was also carrying a black jacket- clearly too big for him.

Talk about fashion statement.
Juuzou cocked his head to the side and pouted.

"Something the matter?" He asked lightly. Miyako blinked a couple of times before shaking her head.

"Oh, it's nothing." She responded. Juuzou nodded, and smiled again.

"Well if it's nothing, then I shouldn't worry." He laughed, and rubbed the back of his head. Miyako couldn't wrap her head around Juuzou; he was too many things at once.

Miyako was beginning to feel her stomach churn as she remembered it had been a while since she last ate. It wasn't on purpose, it's just been a lot harder to hunt lately. As if reading her mind, Juuzou asked.

"Hey, are you hungry?" Miyako looked up at him.
"What?"

"It's just I know this little cafe not too far from here. I've only been there once, but they have the best sandwiches." Juuzou's smile grew wider, and Miyako bit her lip.

I guess getting to know him will make it easier to attack him later. Miyako thought to herself. She smiled back.

"Sure, what's it called?" Miyako asked as they started walking. Juuzou swung his arms back and forth.

"Anteiku." He replied. Miyako felt her stomach flip, and not from lack of food.
Why was somebody like Juuzou interested in Anteiku? Surely he knew who ran the place- or what more specifically.

"Sounds cute." Miyako lied. She was starting to think he wasn't just going there for a friendly get-to-know you chat. Seeing as she knows who he is, she assumed he was going back to suss it all out.

The Anteiku Cafe was just coming into view of Miyako's eyes, and she could feel her palms getting clammy. She scolded herself for getting so worked up about this all. Juuzou quickly turned to her as soon as they stopped in front of the door.

"Ladies first." He beamed. Miyako placed her hand on the door knob, and breathed out.

Slowly opening the door, she heard the familiar chime of the bell. A girl a little older than Miyako turned around and smiled.

"Welco-oh." The girl looked at Miyako in awe. "Miyako how are you?"
Miyako smiled warily at the girl in front of her and took a step inside.

"Hey Irimi, I'm good." Irimi beamed at Miyako, and let her eyes trail over to Juuzou. Her face quickly dropped: but only for a moment.

"Glad to have you back." Irimi retorted. Juuzou nodded, and smirked deviously.

"I'll find us a table." Juuzou piped up, before walking past the two girls. They both watched him slowly, and Irimi turned back to Miyako.

"What are you doing with him?" She whispered harshly. Miyako's eyes shot back over to Juuzou, who was now sitting down and looking out the window.

"Don't worry," Miyako whispered back, looking at Irimi reassuringly. "I know what I'm doing."

She quickly grabbed Irimi's hand and squeezed it, before walking past the girl and up to Juuzou. Sitting down across from him, the boy noticed her presence. He looked at Miyako and smiled.

Miyako suddenly realised that she, in fact, did not have the slightest idea of what she was doing.
