Pallavi folded the pleats of her sheer designer saree. Half of it was beige and had patches of golden jewels on the net fabric while the other half of the fabric was maroon and had a velvety texture. The thick border of the saree had a golden shimmer to it that highlighted the maroon half of the cloth. Pallavi looked at herself in the mirror after she tucked the pleats and wrapped the saree around her so the velvety pallu rested on her shoulder. She carefully pinned the pallu to the single strap of her velvet-textured maroon blouse that was roughly two fingers wide. Eyeing her nearly bare shoulders and exposed collarbones, Pallavi knew Raghav would be ecstatic to see her look for the business party they were attending tonight. She could already imagine his hand wandering up to her greatly exposed back due to the thin straps that traveled down her back and connected at the bottom of her ribcage. Granted, the rough pads of his fingers felt comfortable on her smooth skin but it also muddled her thoughts and increased the number of fluttering butterflies in her stomach. And though she usually loved his advances, tonight she had to appear professional at the event in front of her business partners.
With jittery nerves, Pallavi called out for Raghav to make sure he was all ready. For some reason, he was still holed up in the closet, frustratedly groaning ever so often. Just then, the closet door opened and Raghav rushed out. His gelled hairstyle had been messed up and his maroon tie had yet to be around his neck. At least his beige plaid suit was appropriately fitted against his lean figure.
"Pallavi, mein yeh nahi kar sakta," Raghav grumbled and threw the crumpled tie on the bed before he looked at his decked up wife.
"Kyun? Kya hua?" she said as she wore her gold-colored dangling earrings. Next, she ornamented her wrists with a small amount of gold and maroon bangles, unaware of her husband's awe-struck stare on her.
When she didn't receive a response, she turned around and saw him looking at her.
"Tum designer sarees kabse pehne lagi?" was the first thing out of his mouth.
She frowned. She thought he would compliment her, stutter out how she looks different but beautiful. But, here he was questioning her dress choice! "Aaj se. Mein achi dikh rahi hoon, haina?"
"H-Haan, acha dikh raha hai tum. Bahut acha," he whispered the last part as his eyes wandered over her figure and repeatedly paused whenever he saw her bare skin. Then his eyes shifted to her lips. "Abhi tak lipstick nahi pehna tumne?"
"Nahi, kyunki mujhe pata tha ki tum poochega aur mujhe apni lipstick karab nahi karni hai," she said, her eyes twinkling with anticipation.
Raghav grinned, forgetting about his tie problem for now. "So I can kiss you then?"
"Aao," she said and opened her arms to have them wrap around his broad shoulders seconds after he placed his lips on hers.
"Tum apsara jaisa dikhta hai," he muttered against her lips. "Itna khoobsurat ki ek look mein saans le gayi mera."
