'Yeah sorry, dad I really don't feel well. Is there any way we can do a virtual meeting?' I ask sitting on my bed.

I wasn't really lying I did feel sick. Sick to my stomach after Spencer had said those things. How could someone be so cruel? I did not feel like going to work.

'I suppose so... I'll patch you in with Daniel.' My dad says on the other side of the phone.

'Thanks.' I hang up before opening my laptop. I accepted the zoom call so I could join the meeting without having to be there.

'Y/N! How are you? Love to see that resilience, pull through that cold!' Daniel's chirpy voice sounds.

'Thanks, Daniel.' He was very nice, I couldn't deny that.

Suddenly there's a loud knock on my door.

'What's that?' Daniel asks.

'Oh, I'm sure it's just the wrong place they have.'

'LET ME IN!' I clearly hear Spencer's voice on the other side of the door.

'Go away!' I yell back.

Before Daniel can even open his mouth to say something my door is kicked open to reveal a heavily panting Reid.

'Y/N?! Do you kno-' Daniel starts.

'Gotta go Daniel sorry!' I end the call.

I get out of my chair and walk toward the tall Spencer Reid.
'Look Y/N listen to me please.' He starts but before he can finish I slap him across the face leaving a red mark.
He barely flinches, his face barely changes.

'Did you even feel that? Do you even feel anything?!' I try to make myself sound angry and confident but instead my words come out as a sob. I punch his chest with my fists and his face still doesn't change.

Suddenly, he grabs both my arms and holds them to his chest. He slowly let's go and lets my hands rest against his chest. He then lifts my chin with his hand and kisses me softly. So different from how he kissed me before.

Then I start thinking straight. I pull away from him. 'No Spencer. You're off the rails it's best for both of us if we just stay neighbors and that's all.'

'Y/N I know that's not what you want and that is definitely not what I want.' He takes a step toward me and takes my head in his hand. I feel weak at his touch and all I want to do is kiss him.

'No. Just... just stay away. Okay, Spencer? Someone is gonna get hurt here and it isn't gonna be you.' I say as I slowly back away.

I push him out my door and slam it shut behind me before he even knows whats happening.

'Y/N just let me in.'

'Go away Spencer. Don't bother trying.'

There was a sigh from behind the door and then soon I hear his footsteps leave.
Spencer was not good for me. I wasn't good for him. I knew everything I needed to know about how things would end and that was that.
I take a deep breath and open my laptop to rejoin the meeting with Daniel.

'Daniel I am so sorry about that.'

'Is everything okay?' He looks sincere, actually worried for my wellbeing.

'Yes, sorry again.' I rub my head with my hands, perhaps that whole situation had given me a headache.

He smiles, kindly, 'Don't worry about it Y/N! Look I know how you can make it up to me.'

'What can I do?'

'You can go out with me.'

I paused, not expecting that. Sure Daniel was nice, stuck up but nice and it would help get my mind off Spencer. Plus my dad approved.

'Sure. I don't see why not.'

Daniels's face lit up, I thought he might do a victory dance. 'I'll pick you up at seven.'

'Great.' With that, we hung up.

Now I just had to find a way to do this without Spencer finding out. Who knew what he would do if he found out.
