I heaved the bags on the floor and sighed. 'Does the air seem different up here to you?' I ask inhaling deeply.

Spencer walks in behind me and hugs me from behind, 'Quantico doesn't have different air y/n.'

'I know.' I spin around and plant a kiss on his cheek. He smiles down at me before walking back into the garage to grab more of our bags.

After Spencer had been given his old job back as an FBI agent we made the decision to move down to Quantico and would now live in a small apartment. MUCH nicer than our old one but modest, it was cute. Staring at the room I was picturing exactly how I would decorate each wall.

Spencer walked back in carrying more bags, I didn't even know how many we brought but it looked like a lot.

I pretended not to notice how Spencer acted differently since he got the job but I did notice, he stood up straighter, rarely swore and I caught him reading a few times even though he tried to hide it. I wasn't really sure about how to take to this change.

After he brought in the last of the bags he slumps down on the couch, 'Early night for me as I gotta wake up when the sun starts to rise.' He gets up and pulls me into a quick hug, 'Goodnight.'

I know he isn't going to bed... I know he reads now but I don't know why he hides it.

Sighing I lift my phone to my face and try to do something to stop me from being bored.

It's been two weeks since we first moved and Spencer started his job, I rarely see him, he's gone for days at a time, and when he returns he is too tired and falls asleep instantly. I'm losing my mind here, I don't have anything to do, I've applied to countless jobs but not many have called back.

It wasn't until Spencer came home one night after a local case and winked at me telling me to keep my phone close to my hand. I had rolled my eyes and playfully hit him, not really sure what to expect. It wasn't until 8:00 that I received a call.

'Hello?'

'Hi is this y/n?' A male voice says on the other side.

'Yes, and who am I talking to?'

'This is the Virginia Medical center,' I perk up instantly, very alert. 'We have seen your resume and it is very impressive, we were wondering if you would come in for an interview?'

I feel my eyes go wide, 'uhh... Yeah I mean yes... definitely, would be happy to!' I run over to a notepad and jot down all the details before hanging up. I turn to see Spencer grinning ear to ear.

'Was this you?' I ask, unable to contain my smile. He opens his arms and shrugs as if implying he knows nothing but it's obvious this was all him. 'How?'

'I helped his daughter on that local case and he owed me one plus he thought your resume was excellent.' I ran over to him and hugged him so tight, thanking him over and over.

I think this could work.

Another two weeks had passed and I had gotten the job, but that meant that now Spencer's schedule and mine were totally off. I had only seen him once over these two weeks and we had both been too tired to even do anything. Instead, we had just fallen asleep in each other's arms.

The new job was stressful, with little time for sleep and that was how I found myself one afternoon stepping outside to light a cigarette to relax for just a minute.

The flame had just hopped from the lighter to my cigarette when an attractive blonde walked up to me. He was tall and had piercing blue eyes, he was fit and had light stubble. It was hard not to notice how good-looking he was but he wasn't really in the same league as Spencer. 'Mind if I borrow a light.' He asks, smiling. I notice his eyes trail down my body which makes me uncomfortable but I try not to notice it.

I nod, lifting the lighter to him. He takes it before looking around erratically as if someone is watching. I take a puff and let the smoke pour out of my mouth, that's when I feel that cool metal slide behind my back.

'Don't make a sound, just be a good one and we won't have any problems.' He whispers in my ear, causing me to shiver. I feel the knife arching into my skin and I nod, dropping my cigarette to the floor.

Shit, shit, SHIT!

He walks me into the surrounding car park and pulls me into his car smiling at everyone who glances at us, not even sparing a second look. I try to show some of the people looking my fear but his glaring eyes keep me silent. He puts me in the back of his car which looks surprisingly normal except for the tinted windows. 'Please sir, don't do this.' I beg but he ignores me, tying me down. The ropes pull at my skin but I don't even feel it, all I feel is such a strong sense of dread weighing down my stomach.

'I have a family, please.' His eyes turn dark and he slaps me across the cheek, without a warning.

'Don't lie to me bitch,' I'm shocked and there's nothing I can do as he stuffs a white cloth down my throat. 'I am your family now.'
