Sorry y'all for going complete MIA, school just made it really difficult to keep writing but I'm back and love to see that we are at half a thousand reads! That's insane. Enjoy, I hope to continue this story and I will also be editing previous chapters.

CUCO - Lover is a day

I combed my fingers through my hair, sitting on the pier, my toes dipped in the cool ocean water. I was meant to meet a friend here that would help Spence and me out. The air was warm and I figured maybe after this I would force Spencer to go swimming with me. The sun was too nice for us to stay inside.

Suddenly my phone dinged. I pulled it out of my pocket to reveal a message from my friend Jackson, saying he had to reschedule. I shrugged and began to walk back to the hotel we were staying at. The walk wasn't long, the hotel was so close to a lovely beach. Before long I reached our room and I opened the door.

'What the fuck!' There sat Spencer, on the floor, bottled pills surrounding him, along with a cigarette in his hand. His hair was a mop on his head and the moment he saw me he put out the cigarette, his eyes grew wide with surprise. His eyes growing wider only showed me how high he was.

'Shit, Y/N you weren't meant to be back till later.' He tried to shove the pills away as if that would somehow undo what I had seen.

I fell to my knees on the floor in front of him and slapped his hand away from the pills, before taking his face in my hands. Clear guilt shown in his eyes as he looked at me. 'It was never meant to go this far Y/N. You shouldn't have seen this.' He pulled away and stood up to walk over to the bed and put his head in his hands.

'God Spencer, why the fuck do you do this to me?'

He stood up and looked at me, with such anger showing clearly in his face. 'You think this is my fault? Is that what you think?'

'I don't see anyone else forcing you to stuff those pills down your throat?'

'God, Y/N. You can be such a bitch.' He sighed, shaking his head, and sat down.

I wanted to reprimand him, wanted to hit him, or hug him, or kiss him. I wanted to do anything. But instead, I just sighed. 'How long has this been going on Spencer?'

'Since I got out of prison. But I stopped for a while... When I was with you... When you told me to stop.'

'Then wha... what happened?' I got up and made my way over to the bed, wrapping my arms around him.

He looked away from me and hesitated before saying, 'just got tempted that's all.'

He was clearly hiding something but I didn't want to push it right now. I placed my hand behind his neck and pulled him in for a soft kiss, still tasting the cigarettes on his lips.

When I pulled out I stopped only a few inches from his face and whispered, 'we can fight this together.'

He laughed a little, 'If only it were that simple Y/N. If only it were that simple.'

He flopped back on the bed, making the springs creak. I lie back with him too and wrap my arm around him, and turned his head to face me. I stared at him before whispering, 'I've already told you, that you know this can't work if we lie, we have given up too much to fuck this up now.'

He only nodded, disappointment in himself clearly showing. 'I want to change for you Y/N, I do but please just give me time.'

'We have nothing but time Spence. Nothing but time.' I kissed him once more.

...

It had taken time but finally, Spencer agreed to discard the drugs and we would face his withdrawals together. It was stupid but we found this old shopping cart and loaded it with all the stuff he had been using. It was sad how full the cart got.

The air was warm as I lit the match, he smiled at me as I threw it into the cart and the collection of drugs set a lite. I would be lying if I said he didn't look disappointed at the flames that licked at the medicine. He wrapped his arm around me, 'I'm doing this for you.' He then leaned down and planted a soft kiss on my lips but I pulled out.

'No Spence, you're doing this for you.' He nodded in agreement before taking my hand in his and walking away from the stupid flaming shopping cart.

Before we could get home I stopped, he turned back with one eyebrow quirked up, confused as to why I stopped. 'Are you going to tell me now who supplied you with that shit?'

He swore under his breath. Then he looked down shaking his head before looking back up and nodding his head in defeat.

'He found me.'
