Chapter 8

Doin Time - Lana Del Ray

A/N

Sorry, all these songs are Lana LMAO I've just been listening to her non-stop while writing this book. This chapter is kind of a filler fluff part so yeah. Enjoy!

I roll over in the bed to find Spencer not to be there. Same as last time I guess.

'You're awake!' Spencer exclaims, sitting on a small chair across from the bed reading his book. His hair is neater yet a few strands still flop over his eyes. He is wearing a black button-up shirt with matching black pants.

I rub my eyes, and stretch 'What are you reading?'

'War and Peace. Just finished actually.' He closed the massive book.

'How long did it take you?' I say as I get up and walk toward him.

'This morning, took me quite a while.' My eyes widen but at this point, I have just accepted how smart he is. He sets the book down on the floor beside him as I climb over the chair and straddle him.

He hugs my hips, pulling me closer to him, and kisses me softly. Then suddenly, he pulls away. 'You have the day off right?'

'Yeah.'

'We have to take advantage of that. Come on let's go out. Do something.' He smiles at me like he just said the greatest idea ever (which it was).

I giggled, 'I don't even have my clothes.'

'That's fine, here take my hoodie.' He throws me a grey hoodie with the words; Washing DC in red and blue printed on the front. I put it on, it was big on me and it smelt like him. I was now wearing my short pajama shorts and the hoodie, although the hoodie covered my shorts and went down to just above my knees.

He took my hand in his and we ran outside of our trashy apartment building. A clock on a building wall revealed that it was in fact 12:00 pm. That reminded me of my gnawing stomach. It seemed Spencer was thinking the same thing as he leads us into a small cafe.

The cafe had a tiled floor and was so neatly arranged. Tables were wooden accompanied by classic cafe chairs. As we stepped inside a golden retriever swept past us as if chasing something. This place seemed to be way above the standard that we were used to for this neighborhood. It was lovely which was why it was so no surprise that this place was packed with people and accompanied by the noise of chatter.

'Two croissants and two coffees please.' He ordered for me without even asking which I was going to point out to him before realizing he ordered exactly what I wanted.

We then sat down at a small table. He then started staring at me. Keeping eye contact for so long, 'Why do you look at me like that?' I ask him, smiling.

'Because I think you are beautiful.' He said it so seriously and kept is hazelnut eyes concentrated on mine.

Our croissants and coffee came which pulled his focus from me. The meal smelt so good and we both indulged almost immediately. There's just something special about coffees and croissants. As we were eating I thought I heard a pitter-patter that sounded like little pebbles hitting the roof.

'It's raining.' Spencer says noticing my confusion.

I smile, 'I love the rain. Just so relaxing.'

Without any notice, he just stood up, 'Come on.' He extended his hand to me.

I took it and he led me outside into the rain. It splashed all around us and the droplets hung in our hair. I looked up to the sky, squinting, and opened my mouth and let the water fall freely down my throat. Spencer then grabbed my waist pulling me close to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck.

'Apparently, most women's bucket lists include being kissed in the rain.' He says, looking down at me.

'Apparently.' I stand up on my toes to reach his lips. I then kiss him, he takes my head in his hands and I feel as if the world is spinning. As if the rain is forming just for us.
