Chapter Twenty Two: Pinky Swear

Audrey’s Point of View

            As I walk to the elevator, I still have a huge grin on my face. Seeing Jessica and Harry so happy must have rubbed off on me. I’m glad that Harry finally got to tell Jess he loved her. And that ring? Absolutely gorgeous.

            When I press the down button on the elevator, I realize I have nowhere to go. I left my phone in the hospital room and I definitely don’t want to go back there yet. Deciding that I’ll just explore for a little while, the elevator door opens and I walk out.

            I see the sign that points to a gift shop, so I follow it. As I’m rounding a corner, I slam into a body. Looking up, I see Zayn’s familiar face.

            “You seriously need to be more careful. Really, sometimes I worry about you.” He says. Rolling my eyes, I look to see who else is with him. Only spotting Liam, I turn back to face him.

            “Where are Lou and Niall?”

            “I dunno. Your guess is good as ours. We left the cafeteria for only a moment and when we got back they were gone.” Liam says shrugging.

            “You don’t think they’re out getting in trouble do you?” I ask.

            “Knowing them, probably.” Zayn says.

            Sighing, I walk in between the two boys and link my arms through theirs. Looking up at them, I ask, “Shall we go find them?”

            “Sure. We don’t have anything else to do.” Liam says as Zayn nods his approval. With that, we begin our journey to search for the Sass Master and his pet leprechaun.

            Twenty minutes into our search, I begin to lose hope of finding them. Liam keeps ringing the boys’ phones but they don’t answer. This is ridiculous, I think.

We come across a small room on the third floor with a sign that says it’s for the patients and their families. I look through the window that’s on the door and see that it has a snack machine, a fridge, and ice maker against one of the walls. There’s also a long counter with a sink, a coffee maker and a small rack of sweeteners and tea bags. Walking in, I see there’s two people with their backs turned to us. They’re dressed in white coats and are wearing blue scrubs and those papery looking hats doctor’s wear in surgery.

“Oh sorry, we didn’t mean to interrupt.” Liam apologizes. Immediately the two staff members turn around and I see that they are wearing blue medical masks that cover their mouths and noses. I meet the blue eyes of the “doctors” and realization dawns on me. Seriously?

“Niall James Horan and Louis William Tomlinson what in the world are you two doing with your lives right now? I cannot believe you!” I say through laughter. Zayn joins in with me but Liam stays silent- but only for a moment.

“What are you two doing? Take that off right now before the both of you get arrested for impersonating a doctor!” Liam demands.

“What? We’re just playing dress up.” Lou says with a smirk. He throws an arm around Niall’s shoulders. “Besides, who would ever get mad at these faces?”
