It was new years eve Elena and Kol were watching Evie Crawl around the room. Since Christopher had died Elena had tried to spend as much time with Kol as she could not wanting him be alone.

Soon there was a knock at the door. "Come in.'

Rebekah opened the door leaning against the doorframe she had wanted to come and check on them knowing it hadn't been easy. "Are you two coming down?"

"Yeah we're going to come down a moment."

Rebekah closed the door looking at the two of them. "Are you two ok?"

"Bex." Kol sighed he didn't really want to talk about it right now.

"I know that this is hard on all of us right now," Rebekah just wanted to check on them and make sure that they were ok despite everything.

"We're all just getting through this right now Bex." Kol knew his sister had the best intentions but right now he had other things to focus on like his child and girlfriend.

"Well y'all can do that and come and join the family while you are at it." Rebekah smirked. She kne what it would do them good to come and join the party.

"Fine"

Kol picked up Evie and the two followed Rebekah downstairs where the party was happening.

Layla walked over to them she took Evie from her brother tickling her. She had missed her niece. "Hi cutie."

Kol shook his head rolling his eyes looking at his sister. She was happy to see his sister only cared about one thing.  "Hi to you too sis."

She rolled her eyes smirking at the two. While she loved her brother her niece was by far her favorite. "Hi i really just wanted to see the baby."

"We know she's everyone's favorite." Elena sighed she knew her daughter was everyone's pride and joy and not just hers.

"How are you two doing anyways?" Layla asked. She was worried about them she knew this was affecting them all and out of all of them these two were acting like it didn't.

"Good." Elena sighed.

"As good as we can be at least." Kol knew they were going to need time for now. They were going to have to adjust to everything.

"I think that's all of this right now." Layla said. She was sure that for all of them it was going to take a long time for the to adjust to all of this.

"Yeah, but we're trying to adjust the best we can." Rebekah said she knew that it wasn't going to be a walk in the park for any of them.

"It's going to take us all awhile." Kol knew this was an adjustment for all of them they couldn't just snap into this.

"Yeah" Elena agreed.

"But we got this." Rebekah knew that as long as they were together they were all going to be able to get through this.

"Yeah we do." Kol nodded.

Jenny walked over with Hayley she had been looking for her sister and hadn't been able to find her. "Oh look who we found."

Elena scoffed looking at her sister and cousin. She couldn't believe they would say something like that. "Rude."

"Why is it rude when you have been the one who's been ignoring us?" Jenny asked. She hadn't seen her sister and days and she knew that it wasn't entirely her fault but still she missed her sister.
