Help Me Climb

Naruto rushes into the room where all of you stay, almost too excited to keep his body from jumping on the walls. Slamming the sliding doors open, you choke on the rice Tsunami gave you, freaking him out. Running over to you, he slaps your back hard enough to dislodge all the rice that was blocking your airway. Coughing every thing out, you pinch Naruto's cheek hard to make him cry out.

"Ah, I'm so sorry (F/N)! I'm just excited to hear that you're awake and getting better. Please, stop."

Listening to him, you let go, dropping the food on the ground and give him a tight hug. Putting your head in the crook of his neck, you clench your jaw to not cry. After the fight with Zabuza and waking up in the condition you are in, you wondered how Naruto and everyone else were. Kakashi clearly had something happen to him if he has to use crutches and is more tired looking than usual. To say that you weren't scared for your teammates would be a lie.

"I—I'm glad you are okay, Naruto," you mumble on his shoulder.

He squeezes you as tight as he can, forgetting about your injuries and so do you. Pulling away, he gives you a teary smile and sniffles. "Aw, (F/N), you dropped your food," Tsunami looks at the fallen rice.

"I'll get him more and tea. (F/N) don't move a muscle, I'll be right back," Naruto yells leaving the room. Tsunami waves you off for you trying to apologize to her about the mess and cleans it.

Soon, Naruto comes back with the rest of the recently finished dinner alongside the others. Even Tazuna comes in with them. "Ah, honestly glad to see you're awake and not dead kid," he sighs out in relief. Naruto plops down next to you and starts to feed you himself. At first you were going to just take everything from him but seeing how happy he is, you reluctantly let him. Kakashi stands back with Tazuna reading the orange book he carries everywhere. Sasuke, though he'll never admit, feels just as relief as everyone else. "So, bit the dust, shorty?"

"Sasuke," Naruto yells at him. Angry he has the audacity to talk to you like that. "Shut it you dobe, your loud mouth is hurting our ears."

Staring at your food in Naruto's hand the whole time him and Sasuke are having their senseless argument, you try to reach out and grab it from him but he keeps moving out of the way inconveniently. Sakura notices and bonks your best friend, "Naruto, give me (F/N)'s food since you're just starving him from it!" Taking it from him, she kneels in front of you and continues to feed you. Kakashi used this time to tell you important information for the mission and to remind everyone to keep their guard up. Even if it only has been a day since the battle, he is not sure if Zabuza is out and about hunting for Tazuna already.

"Oh, (F/N)," he starts to gain your attention, "after Zabuza knocked you out, we were able to beat him. Problem is that he has a partner who disguised as a Hidden Mist tracker ninja came and took him...Zabuza is still alive. Be alert. Tomorrow, you will start training and I'll be there every step of the way to make sure you don't injure yourself more." Finishing the last bite, you nod your head at him and thank Sakura while sipping on your tea. Knowing the Hidden Mist ninja that bitch slapped you into a tree brings elation and nervousness at the same time. 'This time, I won't let that bastard get the best of me!' Naruto and Sasuke go back to training while Sakura and Kakashi sit back in the room with you. Sakura, not feeling like her usual self, has been nice to you and it honestly makes you want to cry. It feels like you got you own friend back.

"Sakura, glad you're okay and didn't end up like Kakashi Sensei and I."

She blushes with embarrassment and guilt, looking away. She admits to herself that she didn't do anything except guarding Tazuna. Which if she were to tell you that, you would just laugh her off and tell her that she is speaking nonsense. That guarding Tazuna is just as brave and useful as fighting Zabuza. Twirling her fingers around, she looks towards you and nods her head with a shy smile.
