Me and Bucky get ready for the Science Festival tonight. I wear a black suit and he wears his army uniform.
We drive to the town centre and pull into the car park. "Okay I'll see you later, I love you" I state. I lean in and kiss him. "You're so beautiful" he states. "Okay don't make me cry when I've got to go on stage." He chuckles and I exit the car.
I walk behind the stage and see Howard. "Jess! How you feeling?" He asks. I give him a quick hug and I smile. "I'm doing great, how's the control system? You better have it fixed?" I say warning him.
"It'll be fixed hopefully by tomorrow" he states. I roll my eyes. "Guys you're on in 5 minutes" the stage director states. I nod and look at Howard. "Nice suit" he says. I look myself up and down and smile. "Skirts aren't my thing" I shrug, making Howard chuckle.
"You going to be okay? When James leaves?" Howard sympathies. I sigh deeply. "I don't know. I mean I'm in control of the army, I'm not going to see him, I know that. But I have to control the army wherever they are. I have to train them, I have to be nice well still mean. And Bucky...he's the love of my life. I don't know what I'm going to do. And the Colonel won't care if I miss him. I'm above him, my role is higher, he'll just think I'm not tough enough for the job..." I explain. Howard wraps me into a hug. "You'll be okay. You're strong. The strongest person I know"
"You're on!" The stage director shouts. Me and Howard connect arms and walk to the stage. "Hello everybody! Welcome to the Stark Science Festival!" Howard begins. "Tonight we are going to show you the greatest things about science. And the experiment that we've been working on for a while now, hopefully in top shape for the future!" I explain. I check the crowd as I speak and 1 eye catches mine.
Bucky...

His smiles is broad as he notices I spotted him. I smile back. God he looks hot in his uniform.
"Okay are we ready!" Howard states. He messes with the control panel and hopefully the car moves. Suddenly the car wheels begin to move, the car begins to levitate and the crowd cheers. I see Bucky in the audience. He's astonished. His cute little face chuckling to himself as I give him a smile and a wink. I walk over to the car and grab a microphone.
Suddenly sparks fly from the car, some burning my skin. I drop the microphone and wince. I quickly look back over at Bucky. I rush off stage where Bucky runs to me. "Oh my god..." he states. He engulfs me into a hug. "Let me see your arm" I extend my arm and show him the red, blistered skin. "There's going to be a scar..." I state.
"Don't worry about that darling, as long as you're okay" he pulls my head into his chest. "It's going to be okay" he whispers into my ear. Howard runs off stage to check on me. "You okay?" He panics. I nod and chuckle. I sort out my arms and talk to Bucky.
"I swear to god, if I find out you're not safe, and I will know, I'll know what happens to every officer. If you're deserting your front line, if you don't listen, if you-" I state. "Okay babe, I get it" he chuckles. "I'll be safe, for you and all of the world. But mainly you" he whispers the last part in my ear before giving me a kiss. "Is that okay?" He states. "Yes" I roll my eyes.
"Hey Jess? What's your rank again?" Howard asks. I look at him. "General of the army, why?" I ask. "I just love hearing how successful you are" I blush and smile. "Thanks Howard." I walk over to him and give him a hug. "I'm proud of you Jess. I love you" he says. "Thank you, I love you too"
"Jess, we need to go to Steve, i left him in the crowd" panic volumes through Bucky's voice. "Buck! You idiot!!" I grab his hand and we both run off of the stage. "Fuck. He's gone!" He panics. "Where could he be?" I tap my fingers on my thigh thinking. I grab Bucky by the arm and drag him to the sign up centre.
Then we see him. He's stood by the mirror. The army guy with a hollow face. Steve always wants to join the army. Buck begins to talk to him. My heart breaks how many times he's been rejected by the army. I can't do anything though.
"Steve! You can't!" I state. "Jess! Men are laying down their lives! I am no different to help." He shouts at me. I sigh. "I'm sorry" I state. I shake my head. "I know you're strong. But we're going to go so don't do anything stupid until we get back" I smile.
"How can I you're taking all the stupid with you" Me and Bucky both walk up to him and hug him. "We're with you til the end of the line pal" I state smiling at Steve then at Bucky. "I know guys" Steve responds.
And so we leave him, while we enjoy date night but we're going to pick him up later.
