Chapter 5: The Family?

Both Noel and Johanna were finishing up the slow dance when she noticed that her family on her father's side was staring at her and Johanna with a weird look. She then remembered the criticism she used to get when she was younger. The cold stares that they gave her when they first found out about her sexuality and also when they found out that she had minored in Music Performance. Her Aunt Martha would always force her dad to talk her into studying to become a lawyer or a doctor so she can be successful. Only because she was the second girl that her dad had in the main bloodline of the Fares Family.

On the other hand, her mother would always tell her to follow her dreams and do what she wants to do. She never forced her to follow a path that she wanted her to but wanted her to be happy with what she chose. Her mother knew that Music was always a big passion for her daughter but also the motivation to learn different languages outside of the ones she grew up with. Even if she is the only girl that she gave birth to in the main bloodline of the Testarossa Cruz Family, she wanted her to make her own story and with her own experiences.

"...el?"

".....oel?"

"Noel?"

Her mind was brought back to reality when Johanna's worried voice had been trying to grab her attention. "Are you okay? You seemed to have not been listening to what I was saying."

"I'm sorry, I guess I starting thinking too much."

"Don't be sorry. I doubt you even wanted to be here." Noel could only shrug her shoulders as they both started to walk back towards their table.

"I only came because of my mom and siblings. I didn't want them to come here knowing how my dad's side of the family is. Also because you are here. I couldn't leave you here with those loser's" she referred to her group, "but I'm glad I came tonight."

Johanna smiled a little and asked, "why do you say that?"

The younger girl turned to look at her into her eyes, "you made it better," A smile that made Johanna's heart flutter.

Noel knew that the girl in front of her was so different than her past relationships and also the many people who have had a crush on her. Something about her just made Noel open up to her little by little. It kinda scared her.

"I'm glad I did." She smiled at Noel, and both had walked back to their seats, where Karli was smiling at them.

She had a feeling this is just the beginning of their story.

As the reunion was coming to an end, and many questions were asked around the families, Martha had walked in front of the crowd, "As we are about to end this beautiful reunion, I wanted to thank everyone who came to this reunion and to finally see each other after years of being apart."

Alba scoffs earning small chuckles from her group, "you all literally saw each other in August." She whispered loud enough for Martha to hear, which earned a look from her.

"As I was saying, we hope you all have a safe trip back home and also to remind you all that we are all here for each other."

After her speech, a man walked up to the front, "We truly appreciate everyone coming here. I know we all have our own stuff going on but just know, we are always thinking about you all."

Johanna felt Noel tense up as she looked at the man up on the stage with a shocked expression. She turned her head to see the rest of the family having the same expression.

"What's going on?" She turned to whisper to Alba.

"That man is Antonio Fares, their dad."
