I Can Be Clever And Kind

(A/N:The date continues! Lila plans for trouble. Nino has regrets but Adrien is there for him.)

"Do you really think Marinette will be at that fair?" Nino asked Adrien as they walked.

"I don't have a doubt!" Adrien smiled. "This will be the perfect chance to talk to her without everyone being around."

"Well let's hurry. I don't want to risk not being able to find her." Nino sighed as they walked out of the hotel.

Lila frowned as she thought about what she had just overheard. What was Adrien doing?! Why was he trying to get Nino and Marinette to talk? Marinette needed to stay isolated! Well she would have to put a stop to this at once, and she knew just how to do it! There was just one person she needed to find.

"Alya!" she exclaimed as she walked up to the group of girls. Alya hada been so boring since she and Nino had broken up, and with Alya that was saying a lot. But Lila had been playing the role of consoling best friend flawlessly. "How are you feeling?"

"Fine, I guess." Alya sighed. Lila smiled even though she wanted to roll her eyes. Comforting Alya felt like such a waste of time but it couldn't be helped. She needed to look like a good friend.

"I have some good news for you." LIla smiled. "I just overheard Nino and Adrien talking about going to that fair we heard about."

"Alya this could be your chance to talk to Nino privately!" Rose squealed.

"Do you think that's a good idea?" Juleka asked "I mean....didn't he say he wanted space?"

Lila didn't know what had been getting into Juleka lately. Maybe she needed another pep talk. Even though she wanted to snap at the shy little wall flower "Juleka are you saying you don't want Alya and Nino to get together?" she asked with wide eyes. "I think we should all try and be supportive."

She watched with hidden satisfaction as Juleka blushed and squirmed.

"N-no that's not it.....he just asked for space.....so maybe we should.....listen?" she said, mumbling more and more.

"Well we can just go and let them run into one another." Lila decided. "And if Nino still doesn't want to talk we'll go. Though it's been a couple of days. I'm sure being away from Marinette and whatever odd influence she had over him has faded."

Alya scowled as she remembered that she was mad at Marinette. "I'm sure he's had time to see what a mistake our break up is!"

"Well then let's go!" Lila smiled.

Marinette couldn't remember the last time she had enjoyed herself this much, Damian was just so easy to talk to. He didn't talk much about his life before coming to Gotham. He said he had lived with his mother for the first ten years of his life and she had been very strict. She had thought Adrien and Kagami's parents were bad but Damian's mom sounded way worse. Though she supposed that was why Damian seemed so formal in his speech.

"I apologize if my speech is odd. Drake says I sound like an aristocratic old man."

Marinette couldn't help but giggle. It was a little mean but she could see where Tim was coming from. "There's nothing wrong with the way you talk." She reassured him. "It's just part of what makes you you." Her words seemed to surprise him but he smiled shyly at her.

"I'm sorry about Richard. Due to my...unconventional upbringing I missed out on a lot of what is considered a normal childhood experience. That combined with my personal tastes when I do have what he considers normal teenage behavior he gets over excited." Damian explained.
