(A/N:Once again I'm so sorry it took so long to update. Life got so crazy that I don't know where the time went. Then I got worried over what to write about. I still think this chapter is awful. T_T)

Monday mornings were not always the quietest days in most households. Wayne Manor fared better than others thanks to Alfred Pennyworth. Well that and the fact that the household's nightly activities did not give way to any early birds. Actually until Master Bruce had his first cup of coffee, and Master Tim had his third, he was in quite the zombie-like state. Though this particular morning was a bit more lively than normal thanks to the two teenage girls now sitting at the breakfast table. Marinette had wanted to make something but Alfred absolutely refused. "Miss Marinette it is your first day at Gotham Academy and you will not start it off with a flour stained uniform!" he informed her. To her credit Miss Marinette was a much better learner than his normal charges.

So when Master Dick came down with a sleepy Mar'i in his arms he would be greeted by the usual site of everyone going about their business. Master Bruce was hidden behind his newspaper. Master Tim would seem dead to the world if not for the cup of coffee he was nursing. Master Jason had left sometime ago slipping out like a thief in the night, but not without taking the tupperware of cookies intended with him. Master Damian was calmly eating his breakfast but there did seem to be an odd energy around him.

"Good Morning Master Dick and Young Miss Mar'i." Alfred smiled

Dick wasn't a fan of the morning but he could handle them better than most of his family thanks to his day job as a police officer in Bludhaven. "Morning Alfie." he smiled before turning his attention to the table. He couldn't help but be lost in the adorableness of Marinette and Chloe in their school uniform.

"You girls look so cute! I'm just so used to seeing Dami in his uniform." he commented.

"Wearing a uniform is a little strange." Marinette.

"The last time I walked into a room and saw a girl had the same outfit as me I got her alone and didn't let up until she ran out of the room in tears." Chloe said in a casual tone.

"That....is troubling." Dick said as he tried to be diplomatic. He was soon distracted as a plate of pancakes, eggs, and bacon was placed before him.

"I think it is admirable to divide and conquer." Damian replied.

"And on that I would like to note that you three should hurry and grab your things since we will be leaving in five minutes." Alfred announced, saving the moment from becoming more awkward. Dick would have liked to have more of a conversation with the trio but instead wished them a fun day at school as they hurried out of the kitchen.

Marinette was a little nervous to be going to Gotham Academy, but it had nothing to do with being at a new school. This last weekend had been the best one in a long time, it might have even been the best weekend of her life. Her date with Damian had been amazing. It had also been her first real date now that she thought of it. It was kind of hard to consider those hair-brain schemes to get together with Adrien through group outings anything close to a date, even though they had ended up alone some of those times, now that she knew what the real thing felt like. She snuck a glance at Damian but thankfully he was occupied with his phone. Sunday had been so relaxing! It had been amazing to go a whole day without having to keep her emotions in check or watch everything she said. Her parents did send her out on deliveries when the bakery got busy which could always lead to a chance of running into one of her classmates.

Gotham was so different from Paris, it was really making Marinette think about the future. They wouldn't be fighting Hawk Moth forever right? God she hoped not. She prayed that bringing Batman and his selected team in on this would help speed things up. So what was her life going to be one the world no longer needed Ladybug and Midnight? Well she would be the Guardian one day. She imagined Fu wanted her to live a little first. He once told her that the Guardian was meant to bring balance to the world. Gotham seemed like a pretty unbalanced place.

"Miss Marinette, we are about to arrive at Gotham Academy."

Marinette was shaken out of her thoughts by Alfred's announcement. "Master Dick explained that it might be troublesome for you and Miss Chloe if word got out that you two are staying at Wayne Manor. I do not see an issue with this....but then again it has been many moons since the problems of teenagers in high school have been issues I needed to face on a daily basis."

Marinette couldn't help but smile. Dick had said Alfred would drop them off near the school but not too close. "We appreciate it Mr. Pennyworth. And thank you for making us lunches! See you in class Damian." And with that said the two got out of the limo.

Damian hated school. He had since he had first been forced to attend when he was ten. Father had told him it would be a good idea to mix with his peers. He had tried to argue that if he so desired he could be taking college courses ... .probably teach them as well when you took in the state of American school systems. But all his protests fell on deaf ears. While school was no more enjoyable now than it had been all those years ago at least he was almost done.

On the drive to school he busied himself with his phone. Richard had made a fool of himself yet again on Twitter. Honestly, why did Father allow such things? Richard Grayson was a grown man and was arguing with himself on twitter over his own rear end. He said it was a good cover but Damian just thought of it as idiotic.

Every now and then he snuck a glance over at Marinette. He wondered if she was nervous about her first day at Gotham Academy. A quick hacking of her school back in Paris showed that she had excellent grades so he wasn't worried about her not being able to keep up in classes. He had done some light research to find out more about Marinette Dupain-Cheng. What he found looked normal for a teenage girl. Marinette was very down to earth, which he appreciated. She was nothing like the girls had had to go to school with. Though maybe that was because she went to a normal high school and not a prestigious institution like Gotham Academy. He wondered what it was like to have people who were honestly interested in you as a person rather than an interest in your last name and what it could do. Of course people quickly learned that Damian was not like other students. He was well aware of the names that were whispered among his classmates. That was fine with him. He didn't want to be friends with any of these simple minded teenagers. He did have a few friends though outside of the Teen Titans. There was Colin Wilkes who was Damian's first real friend, then there was Jon Kent whom he met after their fathers forced them to work together. Damian didn't believe in having a best friend because both were dear to him. Plus he had finally learned that not everything was about being the best. Sometimes what mattered was being there.

Of course he valued the friendship of his teammates on the Teen Titans but that was also different. Like his Father he didn't want to get too personal with those he worked with. But also like his father, that didn't really work well when you had a kryptonian who wanted to be your friend.

When the car pulled up to the front of Gotham Academy he bid Pennyworth goodbye and got out of the car. Up ahead he could see the group of exchange students and couldn't help but frown a little. Though he knew Marinette and Chloe could handle themselves, he still hoped to see them soon.
