(A/N: The end of the last field trip. Also Dick's family comes home!

I'm not sure how I feel about this chapter. I kind of feel like it's a bit of a filler, but chapters like this help me connect my ideas and kind of act as transitions from one thing to another. Sorry for the wait on this chapter. My laptop died after seven years of faithful service. I bought a chromebook because I just wanted something for being online and writing but I'm not sure how I feel about it.)

Marinette couldn't remember the last time she had enjoyed her day so much. It was certainly before Lila had come into their lives. Even when Jason left her and Chloe to go do his job they weren't alone because Cass would come over. Cass was much more quiet than her other siblings but that didn't make her any less interesting. Marinette got the feeling that she studied and took in everything around her. There wasn't really any part of Gotham that was happy or bright but she had to admit that there were areas that were better than others. But she took Jason's warning to be on guard to heart. She got the feeling that there would be others in her class that would completely ignore him.

Best of all Lila and Alya were leaving her alone for a change. Part of Marinette didn't want to leave Gotham, but she knew Paris still needed her and her team. Speaking of her team, she was going to have to do her best to convince Jason to go out with her so he could get used to his new super hero persona Midnight. It could be a lot all at once. Marinette remembered her beginning days as Ladybug very well. She was pretty sure all of Paris had heard her screams as she learned to swing with her yo-yo

She was getting some pretty good ideas but hadn't nailed down exactly what she wanted to do for Chloe or her own gala dress. Though she did know what she wanted to do for tonight's desert. Dick had told her about his wife Kory and their daughter Mary (I know it's misspelled but that's how she would spell it right now) She had never met someone from another planet. Dick had told her that the superheroine Starfire had been acting as an ambassador between Earth and Tamaran to get more of them to come to earth.

Marinette had asked if that was a good idea because they would all have super powers right? But apparently Starfire was special because she was part of the royal family. Marinette thought that was amazing. She lived with a literal goddess of luck but that was different from meeting an alien princess.

Jason had to admit that the chaperone job wasn't so bad. Certainly not as bad as he thought it was going to be. Of course part of that was besides doing rounds to make sure none of the Paris brats were losing all their money he spent the day with Marinette and Chloe. His experiences with teenagers were very limited. Basically all he had to go off of was Replacement and Demon Brat. And he was pretty sure those were not the most reliable sources for normal teenage behavior. Tim was a genius insomniac addicted to coffee and Damian acted like an old man since he was ten.

Now this might be his obvious favoritism speaking but these other teenagers were boring as fuck. Marinette and Chloe were so much cooler. Marinette was like a little sister to him. Chloe...well she looked at life a lot like he did. Which shouldn't be a good thing, except it was pretty awesome. They were going to go far in life, Jason could tell.

When his phone buzzed and he saw it was a text from Dick he thought it would be him trying to check up on him again. Fully intent on telling Dick that all the kids were fine and that he needed to fuck off Jason opened the message. But surprisingly enough it was not a check up message. The teacher was starting to gather her students to head back so he walked over to the students. "Yeah I hope you all had a good time." he said even though his tone said that he could care less. "Listen up bra.....children. I know this is your last field trip and on Monday you will be going to Gotham Academy. Anyways I've just been informed that tomorrow there is going to be a fair in upper Gotham. I don't really care but Dick just texted me and I know if I don't tell him I told you he'll ride my as....get on my case for it. Go....don't go.....do whatever you want. Since it's not part of your trip it's up to you to get there. But it's not that far from the hotel. Well....bye."

"Good save Mr. Chaperone." Chloe smirked when he went over to the bikes where the girls were waiting.

"Shut up and get your helmet on." he glared. "Since my driving offend's Marinette's delicate constitution you're with me."

"Not wanting my life to flash before my eyes does not make me delicate!" Marinette exclaimed.

"Whatever. Let's get out of here."

Dick was feeling so excited. Today was the day Kor'i and Mar'i would be back from visiting Tamaran so they would be able to meet Marinette and Chloe. He had been hoping that this would happen but hadn't been sure if it would happen or not. He had missed his wife and baby girl! Mar'i was going to be six soon. God she was growing up so fast. She had recently started to show signs of having powers like her mother which was the main reason they had gone to Tamaran. He had been nervous over the idea of his little girl leaving the planet but after sitting down and talking things out he reluctantly agreed that it was for the best in the long run. Anyone who said he sulked in a corner after they left was a dirty liar!!

"Husband, we are home!" A joy filled voice echoed through the manor.

Dick's head jerked up at the happy sound of Kor'i's voice. His eyes widened at the sight before him.

"Daddy, look I can fly!"

Sure enough his five year old daughter was floating,in the air. She was a little unstable but she was up there. It seemed that the trip had been successful. "Baby I'm so proud of you!" Dick exclaimed, wrapping his arms around his daughter. And if she had been wavering in the air just before that moment neither parent drew attention to it.

Dick smiled and leaned over to kiss Kor'i's cheek. Having his wife and daughter made him so happy.

"So....what has happened while we were away?" Kor'i asked.

"Quite a bit. We have guests staying with us in the manor." Dick began. "They are two girls from the Paris class that won the trip."

"Should not they be with their school mates?" Kor'i asked looking a little confused.

"Well it's a bit of a long story but there were some issues. So Marinette and Chloe ended up needing somewhere to go or else they might have been sent home for something not their fault."

Kor'i sat at the island table in the kitchen listening to Dick fill her in on what had been going on while she and Mar'i had been away. She knew that Dick and the others had been planning for this trip for some time and she was happy that they had been able to get back while the group was still there. But she could tell that Dick had taken a special interest in the two girls who had ended up needing to stay at the Manor. She was excited to meet them later that afternoon. It wasn't often that anyone outside of the family stayed at the Manor so this was quite exciting.

"What this Marinette girl has gone though sounds so awful." she frowned, eyes flashing green for a moment as her emotions swelled. "I'm so glad Bruce has opened the Manor to her and her friend Chloe." She had also been interested in the part of the story about the two Paris superheroes Ladybug and Honey Flash had come into the cave. She knew that none of them would have thought about superheroes from other countries. But maybe there were more out there. And even though it seemed like it, not everything could happen in Gotham or Metropolis.

"Do you think Marinette and Chloe will be my new friends?" Mar'i asked looking up from her cookie, she had been sitting on Dick's lap, he had not let her go since that first hug. Not that Kor'i blamed her husband, it was the first time Mar'i had gone off planet. Aside from this she had only gone between Gotham and Bludhaven with the occasional trip to the Kent farm.

"Hey fuckers we're back!" a voice shouted.

"Master Jason!" another voice scolded a few seconds after that.

Kor'i couldn't help but laugh. "I see Jason has not changed." she mused.

"Actually Jay has taken the biggest shine to Marinette and Chloe. It's like they are his little sisters. Especially Marinette, he's so protective of her." Dick replied. "Marinette is a lot like you. She's got a lot of sunshine in her that draws you in."

(A/N: I know there hasn't been a lot of Daminette interactions so far but that will change at the fair. When ever I get to that. I do have a big idea in the works that I am very excited. Get ready to scream at what ever you're reading this on!)
