~Third pov~
Adrien was on his way to pick up his 6 year old son from school. He was running a bit late, since the business meeting he attended was longer than he expected. And don't mention all the traffic. All he knew, is that Hugo will never let him live it down.
Once he got there, he rushed out of his car and inside the school building. He immediately made his way to his son's classroom. All of the other classrooms were closed and had the lights off. But thankfully not his son's classroom, the door was wide open and the lights were on.
He finally made it to the door way panting like crazy. Once he finally caught his breath, he walked in the classroom. That's when he noticed Hugo and a lady, reading a book together.
"Hey there, sorry I'm late." Adrien spoke up, catching the attention of the two reading.
"Oh, it's alright." The lady replied as she and Hugo got up.
"Was he being a handful before I got here? Did he throw a fit of any sort?" He asked, worried that his son might have caused problems for the lady--who seemed to be his teacher, since there was no one else in there.
She giggled and responded, "Of course not, Hugo has been a very good boy." To which came as a shock to Adrien.
"Is that so?" He asked grinning at Hugo.
Adrien walked closer to the two. He stuck his hand forward for the teacher to shake. Surprisingly, he has never met Hugo's teacher.
"I'm Adrien." He introduced himself.
She smiled at him while shaking his hand and introduced herself, "Marinette, but the kids call me Miss Mari. I'm the teacher's assistant."
Then it all clicked for Adrien. She was Marinette Dupain-Cheng, one of his close friends back in high school. No wonder she looked so familiar.
"Marinette? From high school?" He asked.
"Excuse me?" She asked having no clue on what he said.
"It's me, Adrien Agreste. We used to go to high school together. We used to hangout a lot with Nino and Alya." He tried to remind her.
Then her eyes went wide when the realization hit her.
"No way! Adrien? I had no idea you had a son." She said shocked and excited.
He chuckled and replied, "Yeah, I do. But he's a handful, and he's always giving me lip."
"Really? He's an angel here, well at least with me." She said surprised.
"Well, then I guess he's very fond of you. He's always talking about a 'Miss Mari', but I never knew he was talking about you." He replied.
"But anyways, I thought you were interested in fashion designing." He said confused.
"I am, but Alya mentioned that they needed help around here. And I decided to help as a teachers assistant. But just for this school year, though." She explained.
"Oh wow. That's so helpful of you." He responded. He then turned to Hugo and told him to go play while they chatted.
She giggled and said, "I didn't know the Adrien Agreste was a father. You must be so happy with an angelic little devil like Hugo. I'm surprised that the news didn't bring light to it."
"Well, that's because I distanced myself from the press a bit. That's why they didn't mention that I adopted a kid." He replied.
"Oh you adopted him? I thought he was yours." She said in utter shock.
