Chapter 9

AURORA POV

It was finally the day of the ball and finally the day I get to kick Alexander's ass. Since we are hosting it'll be at one of our other estates not far from our home. Me and my mother spent about 5 hours the other day dress shopping because I didn't like most of the dresses. I finally found one I liked though and so does my mother. The ball was at 8pm and it's currently 6:30pm my parents have to be there before us to greet people but me and Davina can take as long as we like. We decided to start getting ready at 7 and my father and mother have already started to get ready to make sure that everything was prepared. I took shower washing my hair to make sure it wasn't oily and gross and before I knew it 7 had already rolled around. I walked out of the shower drying myself and chucking something on loose and comfortable so I didn't ruin my dress. Davina had just walked in as I walked out of the closet.

"hey"she said walking in closing the door behind her
"hey"I said walking into the bathroom to put my towel away
"what colour is your dress"she asked putting her stuff down and hanging her dress on a hook in my wardrobe
"red yours"I asked walking out of the bathroom
"black"she said walking out of my wardrobe. We started getting ready I did her hair as I let mine dry a little naturally before blow drying it. I finished her hair and we switched she did my hair then we started out own make up. I hat to start again cause I fucked yo the last one with the wrong colours of eyeshadow. We finally finished our make up and went to put on our dresses.
"Aurora that's beautiful"Davina said gesturing to my dress
"Davina your is gorgeous"I said looking at her up and down to which she gave me a smile, by the time we finished all of that it was already 8. I finished putting on my shoes and called our driver to meet us downstairs. We walked down the stairs and out the door to the car as the driver held the door open for us. He shut the door and got in the front driving us to the estate. We weren't that late it was only 8:45pm and most were already there.

We walked up the stairs to the door and a man opened it for us. We walked in and they took our coats revealing our dresses. I was wearing a red silk dress with a loose top, a backless with red strings at the back to tie it up as they crisscrossed and a small slit going up my left leg with black string up heels. Davina was wearing a black dress with a low v, short at the start but long at the back with black heels. We walked through the entrance as most heads turned to look at us me and Davina always hated the attention from these type of things. We reached the bar and got a drink while I tried to scan the room for Alexander.

"A chill he's here somewhere don't worry"Davina said putting her hand on my arm
"i'm not I just want to make sure I get to talk to him is all"I said still scanning the room
"come on let's go find your father he will know if he's here"she said as I nodded and we went to go find my father. We found him as he was talking to the leader of one of our smaller groups.
"father is he here"I asked blankly when the leader walked away and he just looked at me
"yes he is but now is not the time Aurora ok you may talk but no fighting not this year"My father said with a stern tone
"how could you even say that"I said rudely before walking away.

I walked away and Davina followed talking to me trying to calm me down.
"listen A he's right there's to many people here to call him out on that"She said and she was right to accuse someone of assassination of a leader is a big deal and if goes side ways could end up in a very very big war
"I know but he can't get away with"I said as we reached the bar again getting another drink
"Welcome everyone to the annual ball hosted this year by the Blake family"The announcer said as everyone clapped and my father walked up onto the stage
"Thank you so much for attending the annual ball and hope your and our alliances stay strong"my father said a drink in one hand while gesturing to the crowd of people in front of him with the other. He kept talking but I ignored most of it dredging the part where I have to dance. It's a tradition that rising mafia leaders must dance with the other rising mafia leaders. I always hated this bit because I would always have to at one point dance with Alexander and I just hated dancing anyway, but wait this could be my opportunity to talk to Alexander. As this thought ran through my mind rapidly my father had already asked the rising mafia leaders to the dance floor.

I reached my position on the floor and began dancing. I was to dance with every rising mafia leader and this was concerning cause the song was coming to an end. I was looking around trying to find Alexander before I was passed off to the next rising mafia leader. I placed my hand in his as his other was placed on my waist and my other hand on his shoulder. I was still looking around not noticing who I was dancing with.
"principessa"a husky voice said and I finally looked at who I was dancing with
"jackass"I said finally realising it was Alexander
"well that's no way to speak to your fellow rising mafia leader now is it"he said giving me a fake sad pout
"fuck you"I said harshly still dancing
"you wish"he said bending down to whisper in my ear and his grip tightening on my waist
