It was Friday and I was actually happy to go to school. Not because there was anything special happening on that day but because it was nice knowing that was last day of every school week and it created a nice pathway for a great weekend.
I was ready and I only needed to have my breakfast and get to school.
"Hi mum!" I said as I walked downstairs with my plain light blue school bag.
"Hey sweetie," mum replied. "How was your night rest?" She asked softly, handing my breakfast to me.
"Perfect!" I smiled spreading chocolate on the slices of bread mum had handed over to me.
"Oh no!" I exclaimed and my mum looked at me. The analog clock in the kitchen told that the time was forty minutes past seven. I was getting late. "Bye mum." I picked up my school bag. "I love you hunny" Mum said as I gave her a slight hug. "I love you too mum".
I rushed out of the kitchen quickly through the back door. I didn't want to waste much time. It took about a minute or two to get to the bus stop.
As usual, school bus ride in the morning was fun and interesting. I preferred sitting by the window casually listening to other students who always had something to talk about. If they weren't in bus, I would simply look outside and admire nature as it was. Most times, I counted how many puppies or dogs had to walk with their owners. Yes, I did. My 15 minutes was always great.

"Hey Carrie!" I could simply tell it was Jasmine's voice. She called from where she stood as she saw me alight from the school bus. She was definitely waiting for me.
"Hi Jas", I smiled giving her a warm hug.
So meet Jasmine, my best friend since grade 6. The one girl who was always there for me aside my mum. Being her friend was a very good title which I was proud of. I mean who won't be proud and happy to have a sweet and caring friend who was also booksmart and ever ready to help them with their homework? Obviously no one.
We walked into the school academic complex talking about how or day went the day before. Stopping in front of my locker, I grabbed a few books I was going to need for my first few classes.
The school bell rang and we both scurried to Algebra class. I didn't like Algebra class nut guess who did. Definitely Jasmine.
"Good day Miss Jane", Jasmine greeted.
"Hello Miss Jane", I followed.
"Hello dears", Miss Jane replied displaying a warm smile on her face and a little dimple on her right cheek.
Jane Everett, whom we all called Miss Jane, was our Algebra teacher. She was a young lady, with a very sweet attitude, pretty in her late twenties. One reason why I managed Algebra class. Her long coffee brown hair usually lay on her back neatly, but today it was in a ponytail which made her golden brown eyes pop out. The sweet voice that came out of her slim lips always made me like Algebra class even a bit more. Not to forget, she's easy going.
"Good day class." Miss Jane greeted loudly.
"Please settle down". She was always polite.
"I'm glad to let you all know that you all did really well in your last tests." She smiled.
Our claps filled the whole classroom. We hardly ever got such a remark. And yes, I personally always liked them.Miss Jane did not need any help distributing the tests results to each of us in the class since we were just 22 in number.
"Wow." Jas whispered beside me nudging me as she received her copy after me. She had almost fallen doing that. I simply chuckled holding the side of my stomach where she had hit me. This girl is so dramatic.
